Overview

Life should be nothing more than lazy Sunday afternoons and lots of hot sex for these two Marines and their favorite Redneck, but life never goes the way it should. Tempering explores what happens when life takes a hard left turn for Alex "Rigger" Roberts, Jim "Rock" South, and Dick Main, characters who appeared in the previous Sean Michael novel, Three Day Passes.

This story stands on its own, testing the strength of the relationships between these extraordinary men as a single event shatters their world and makes them build it over again, stronger than before. When Rigger is caught in a savage act of violence, Rock, Dick, and Rigger all have to face things they'd rather not. Mortality. Hate. And their crumbling relationships, which they're not sure they can save.

All of the wonderful heat and humor expected from these characters is in Tempering, but so is a core of pure steel that makes them not only likeable, but admirable.

    Another Winner

Things are a changing. Richard gets a promotion, Rig goes back to school and Rock may be feeling his years, but he's too stubborn to admit it. But some things do remain the same. The boys are as hot as ever, burning up the pages with plenty of lovin' and they're still fighting with plenty of makin' up. Rock's still the manly stud muffin of the family, Rigger's still has a powerful thirst for his marines and Richard is still thanking his lucky stars. But things take a darker turn, when an act of violence threatens their happy existence. Rigger's Momma in very momma-like fashion tries to help the best she can but it's Richard, when he finally 'steps up to the plate,' that saves his family from the destructive fallout. Instead of running out of steam, Sean retains momentum in his next Jarheads novel, creating enough heat and passion to overload our senses and overheat our bodies. The dialog is still as fresh-mouthed as ever -- and did I mention the hot lovin'? We see the boys struggle to cope with their biggest challenge yet *and* Sean treats our romantic hearts to a magical moment between Rigger and Rock. Hint: its something Rock refuses to do, its something Rigger loves to do, and it doesn't involve the boy's favorite pastime.
