“Cynthia Wright is a gem among writers!” ~ Literary Times

A marriage of convenience in the Gilded Age…

Newport heiress Catherine Beasley Parrish has been groomed all her life to marry an English duke. However, when she meets Adam Raveneau, the latest in a long line of Raveneau rakes and a newly created viscount, Cathy awakens to a destiny worth fighting for.

Although Raveneau insists that he is not marriage material, he is in desperate need of funds to restore Tempest Hall, his crumbling family estate on Barbados. And when Cathy begs him to save her from the toad-like duke her mother intends her to marry, Adam realizes that they may be able help each other.

Following a passionate honeymoon voyage on the high seas, Cathy and Adam arrive at their island home to find legends of pirate treasure and face the realities of their complicated marriage of convenience.

Can two people who wed for all the wrong reasons discover that a lasting love is the greatest treasure of all?

“In TEMPEST, Cynthia Wright is in top form, doing a masterful job of transporting the reader to a magical yet believable world. I loved the way the two main characters, Adam and Cathy – despite having joined forces for self-interested reasons - struggled to grow, with humor and honest exchanges, and to open their hearts to each other. Brava!”~ New York Times Bestselling Author Ciji Ware

“TEMPEST is Cynthia Wright at her eloquent, intuitive best, and I savored every delightful page! I was swept away by sinfully sexy Adam Raveneau, wondering how he and Cathy could ever untangle their problems, and thrilled to find myself in the midst of adventures with pirates, buried treasure, and a romantic abduction. I believe Cynthia Wright will make a lifelong fan out of everyone who reads TEMPEST!”~ Lauren Royal, Bestselling Author of AMETHYST

Meet the Author

My career as a novelist began when I was twenty-three, with a phone call from New York announcing that CAROLINE would be published by Ballantine Books. Can you imagine my excitement? I went on to write 12 more bestselling historical romances set in Colonial America, Regency England & America, Medieval England & France, and the American West.
My novels have won many awards over the years, but what means most are readers' messages like this one: "When I read your books, I can't wait to turn the page, but never want the story to end." It's been a thrill to have all my novels published as e-books (newly edited, with gorgeous new covers!). The icing on the cake is my all-new Raveneau novel, TEMPEST, in late 2012! Next, I’ll be working on the first volume of a trilogy set in Cornwall around 1800.
Today I live in northern California with my husband, Alvaro, in a 1930's Spanish cottage. When we aren't riding our tandem road bike or traveling in our vintage airstream, I love spending time with family, especially my two young grandsons. I also recently received a degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant and feel blessed to have two rewarding careers!
I'd love to have you join me at my website:

P.S. Many of you have asked, "In what order should I read the Beauvisage & Raveneau books?"
Although the titles stand alone, these two series intertwine with some characters crossing over, and many readers enjoy them in chronological order:
1781 - SILVER STORM
1783 - CAROLINE
1789 - TOUCH THE SUN
1793 - SPRING FIRES (A Beauvisage/Raveneau Novel)
1814 - SURRENDER THE STARS
1814 - NATALYA
1818 - SILVER SEA (A Raveneau/Beauvisage Novel)
1903 - TEMPEST

A WONDERFUL TRIP BACK TO TEMPEST HALL! My heart broke when I read the storyline of this book and realized after Tempest Hall was falling apart thanks to Adam. It was so nice to visit this island again with another generation of Raveneau's. I didn't care for Adam in the beginning of the story, he was very aloof, no heart, and pulled away often, but when he changed it was a heartwarming story. I loved "Cathy" and felt so sorry for the mother she had and the shock she received about her papa. This story will make you feel like you are mountain climbing with your emotions. You will feel high and then drop low over the choices our H/H make with their marriage. The secondary character's are so colorful the way they are written you will love some and hate the others. I liked how Ms. Wright weaved the story of the treasure map into this storyline. I realize even the author states these books are stand alone, but please read about the two families and buy the bundle books of Beauvisage. Raveneau and St. Briac. Ms. Wright is one of the few author's who can weave the character's of these novels back and forth with ease. She doesn't just mention their name (from books past), but they are part of the current story. If you read them in the order she suggestions, you will have a more enjoyable reading experience. This book is more about emotions, than a lot of action, which worked. It is a slow romance build, with wonderful written love making - not vulgar. You will again feel for Cathy, for her apprehension with the wedding night, it felt so real what she was feeling. I hope you will take a chance on this wonderful series. I rarely say that I will re-read a book, but I will definitely be visiting with these families again. I miss them already. (ljb)

I waited 17 years for this novel...every time I was in a bookstore and check the shelf for it and was disappointed each time not to find it. Let me say, it was WORTH THE WAIT! Ms. Wright fell back into writing as if she never left. I adore the Raveneaus and this book was a perfect ending to a series I have read over and over again.
