Overview

The man who could be general.

Jesse Johnson is a man everyone assumes will be a general. Everyone, that is, but Jesse himself. He isn’t sure if he wants to give that much to the military. His father has spent most of his life surviving a lonely existence with only his work for comfort. Jesse doesn’t want that—he wants it all.

The woman who tempts him to misbehave.

The last year has been bad for Zoe Jones. Her boyfriend was killed by some nasty guys who then put her in the hospital. She’s come to Virginia to heal not to fall for some by the book, drop dead gorgeous Marine with a chip on his shoulder. But one little encounter leads to a kiss and that kiss leads to all kinds of interesting entanglements. She knows it won’t last because he has big plans, but she can’t help but falling a little in love with him.

A Marine on a mission.

Jesse knows Zoe thinks they’re just having a bit of fun, but he has other plans. Forever kind of plans. He’s one man who knows how to organize a full on assault to get the woman he loves—and nothing will stop him.

Meet the Author

From an early age, USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR Melissa loved to read. First, it was the books her mother read to her including her two favorites, Winnie the Pooh and the Beatrix Potter books. She cut her preteen teeth on Trixie Belden and read and reviewed To Kill a Mockingbird in middle school. It wasn’t until she was in college that she tried to write her first stories, which were full of angst and pain, and really not that fun to read or write. After trying several different genres, she found romance in a Linda Howard book.
Since the publication of her first book in 2004, Melissa has had close to fifty romances published. She writes in genres from historical suspense to modern day erotic romance to futuristics and paranormals. Included in those releases is the bestselling Harmless series. In 2011, Melissa branched out into self-publishing with A Little Harmless Submission and the popular military spinoff, Infatuation: A Little Harmless Military Romance. Along the way she has garnered an epic nomination, a multitude of reviewer’s recommended reads, over five Capa nods from TRS, over twelve nominations for AAD Bookies and regularly tops the bestseller lists on Amazon, All Romance Ebooks and Barnes & Noble.
Since she spent her childhood as a military brat, Melissa swore never to marry military. But, as we all know, Fate has her way with mortals. She is married to an AF major and is raising her own brats, both human and canine. She spends her days giving in to her addiction to Twitter, counting down the days until her hubby retires, and cursing the military for always sticking them in a location that is filled with bugs big enough to eat her children.

    more from this reviewer

Another terrific military romance by Melissa Schroeder .  Her ex

Another terrific military romance by Melissa Schroeder .  Her experience and respect shows in every word.  Tempt Me is Marine officer Jesse Johnson’s story.  When his sister in law, Zoe, is hurt in a car wreck she heads to DC with Joey and Papa Santini to recuperate.  Joey loves playing matchmaker and cons Jesse into playing tour guide for the southern gal.  The problem is Jesse is ready to settle down and Zoe doesn’t want commitment. But as we all know plans don’t last past the first engagement.  Zoe may be a free spirited artist but she may just be what the by the book Marine needs.  Fun, sweet, sexy hot.  Everything you expect from Melissa Schroeder .

    Too short

    ## 75 pages. It sounded so good in the overview but unfortunately was just too short to develop the characters. I can't even say if I liked the characters. They were dating for 3 weeks and then TA-DA, in love and moving to Europe. Can't recommend!

Melissa has done it again. Loved this book. Zoe was every thing

Melissa has done it again. Loved this book. Zoe was every thing a great heroine should be and Jesse was indeed a very swoon worthy Marine. Loved getting more of Joey and Papa Santini love those two. Cannot wait for the next one. Jacks story should be a very good one. Loved the General Jesse's Dad he was everything you didn't expect from the way he has been mentioned in the books. Loved him maybe you can give him a HAE Melissa.

May we all be blessed with a Marine! If ever anyone was a Gene

May we all be blessed with a Marine!

If ever anyone was a General in the making, it’s Jesse Johnson. He’s headed straight to the top, just like his old man. But no one has asked Jesse what he wants; and right now Jesse is thinking about family, settling down and life beyond the military.

Zoe Jones is healing; not just physically, but mentally, from a trauma she never saw coming and has resigned herself to some much-needed alone time, devoid of relationship complications and all they encompass.

But fate always has a way of steering things on the path of her choice; and in this instance fate presents herself in the form of Joey Santini, but never the less, these two lost souls are about to go head to head with an attraction so intense that even they won’t know what’s hit them.

Melissa Schroeder never disappoints, and Tempt Me was an absolute pleasure to read. Thank goodness I don’t have long to wait for book three!!
