Overview

WARNING: THIS IS A SHORT STORY OF ONLY 9K WORDS !!! "Logan and Lauren" is a stand alone short story that doesn't have any cliffhangers!! It's the perfect length before bed or while waiting at an appointment. BUT IT IS SHORT !!!

When Logan Crenshaw comes home from work one day and finds out his wife is keeping a secret from him, he goes a little crazy. So he steals her off to the Caribbean where he finally figures out what's been troubling her. But unfortunately, not before he loses his cool and goes completely territorial.

Excerpt:

Logan tightened his hands in Lauren's hair and her eyes flew open. He could see it clearly, her arousal, the drugged look that had always fascinated him so much. He encircled her wrist, and locked it behind her back in a swift move that imprisoned her. "You like that, baby?"

"Yes." Her eyelids fluttered; he knew that she was barely able to hold them open.

He rewarded her answer, stroking into her, in and out, and in again. He stayed there, deep within her, and when her eyes closed completely, he dropped his lips to her ear and sank his teeth around her lobe. "You're mine," he said in an uncontrollable hiss. "That hasn't changed." He took another slamming stroke and then stilled inside of her again. "That will never change." He bit down on her flesh. "You understand me? Never."

SHORT - but she did warn you! A little something to get you by until Jesse's book comes out! I love everything she writes and this was no exception.

    SHORT AND SWEET!

Logan and Lauren have such an amazingly intence love for eachother. Their sexual chemistry is off the charts HOT! I loved this storyline though it did seem like in this short story and in the first book that they did spend ALOT of time in bed. Lol. Oh well, so would I if I my husband loved to f*** hard like Logan. Lol. I recommend this book and the first one to everyone.

    HEADS UP: Dom/Sub

Perhaps if I were more familiar with the romance sub-genre of Dom/Sub, I would've realized that the brief excerpt of text from the short story (in the book description) informed readers (without saying so, deliberately) that this was, indeed, completely a dominant/ submissive story. Just a heads up...and I suspect readers either crave this or don't like it much. I freely admit TEMPTATION IN TEXAS: LOGAN AND LAUREN was my first Dom/sub read...and it caught me off guard. Ms. Chance's skilled writing and well-placed reveals made it evident to me key critical elements (Lauren was not only OK with her husband's dominant behavior--she LOVED it, consensual, Dom/sub romance) without having to spell it out.

My only reason for 4 stars ("I liked it", vs 5 stars, "I loved it") is that for me, personally, I see why I've not been completely sucked in by the Dom/sub romances; it's not my personal preference as a reader or as a sexually active adult.

This short story centers around a misunderstanding. For the length of the short story...it was PERFECT. Beautiful motivation behind Lauren's decision to keep something (big) from Logan, and for Logan to act strongly and sweep Lauren away from home as well as reclaim her (all in character...and I'd just "met" these people/characters). The dialogue rocked. The sex was hot and graphic (and in character...which was incredibly well done for such a short read).

Very well done, Ms. Chance! I'll seek out more of your titles!

    Short and Sexy!!

Read Temptation in Texas First and glad that I did... This was a Novella that is something that happened mid way through the full length story... All of the reviews are very positive but it must be that a lot of readers are turned on by possessive, domineering, and overly aggressive men... While our star was pretty hot I wouldn't give him house room... I like strong men but I don't appreciate a bully and I will leave it at that...

    Just a sex scene

Anyone who read Pursuit and then bought this book really just bought a couple extra sex scenes. Around 20 pages for $0.99.

A little different from the normal ...finally

Unlike her other books it was more to the point and a already established relationship... it wasn't a lot of beating around the bush.... the jealousy was almost heart warming

    MY REVIEW
How can ANYONE fit that much intensity and emotions in a short story? Well, Lynda Chance has done it. Again!

I love, love, LOVE that book. The story is compelling, sexy, well written (obviously) and just intense! I will surely read it over and over again.

No one writes alpha males better than Mrs. Chance, for sure. Logan is no exception. He is strong, sexy, sure of himself and madly in love with his wife. Sure, he is possessive but I will admit that’s a trade I find oh! So sexy. No need to spoil all the fun but I will say that the love scenes will get your blood pumping.

Ok. You may say I’m an unconditional fan of Mrs. Chance and you will be right. Her name on the book is enough guaranty for me to buy it and I was never proven wrong. Some titles are better than other but the emotions, the characters, the plot and the writing all together only gets better with every book!

    MY CLASSIFICATION
    Type: Contemporary romance
    Keyword: sexy, alpha male
Intimacy: Hot (with a capital H)

    MY RATING
5 stars – hard feet to accomplish for a short story.
