Overview

When personal assistant Savannah Wood lands a dream job with up and coming rock star Nick Hart, it seems too good to be true. He's devastatingly handsome, reserved and charming...but he has a secret he's determined to keep.

Their attraction to one another is immediate and Savannah is determined to keep a professional relationship between them. She's been burned before and has no desire to reopen old wounds.

The lines between professional and personal begin to blur when Savannah finds out Nick's secret: he's a century old vampire with a painful past. He's also hesitant to open himself up to her, yet they find their temptation to one another is stronger than either can resist.

The paparazzi, a string of murders and cryptic, threatening letters threaten their budding relationship. Will their attraction and love be enough to keep them together…or will it tear them apart?

*This is an erotic, romantic book. It contains sexy vampires, graphic language, adult content and situations that aren't for the faint of heart. Consider yourself warned.*

Tempted is a paranormal romance between Savannah Wood and Nick Hart. The star of this novel is its hero, Nick Hart. I absolutely fell in love with his character. There is just something about a strong man that knows it's okay to let your guard down and allow yourself to be comforted by a woman that you love and trust. That's Nick. Nick Hart is a drop dead gorgeous hunk of a vampire. He has a golden voice which has enabled him to have a very lucrative career as a rock star. Nick is not your typical rock star with a huge ego and a passion for parties and women. He is very introspective, sensitive, vulnerable, and loyal. He sees Savannah Wood and knows that he must explore their mutual though unacknowledged attraction.

Savannah Wood is the product of a distracted father and dysfunctional mother. She has felt the wrath of the press up close and personal. She refuses to allow herself to be in a position that will make her vulnerable to the paparazzi again. She begins working for Nick Hart determined not to let her attraction for him jeopardize her new job and chance to become an agent. However, despite her determination passion takes their relationship to a more personal level. I liked Savannah's character. I just felt like she was immature and childish in some parts of the plot. There were other parts where I wanted to stand up and applaud her because she was a real stand by your man type of woman. I guess that's where my disconnect came in---I never knew whether she would be the strong woman or the confused adolescent.

Alexandra Anthony did a simply brilliant thing by showing the tradeoffs and the compromises that any relationship entails. This is not a fairy tale story where the hero and heroine come together and all is well while they ride into the sunset. This book depicts real relationship issues and power struggles. I absolutely loved reading about the evolution of their relationship. The sex was off the charts hot and there was a multitude of it. There was mystery and intrigue along the way. The book kept my attention and was a quick easy read. The ending was a cliffhanger which I hate. So you will have to buy the next book in the series to see how the relationship evolves further and how the mystery is solved. It would have been so much better to conclude their story and pick up on a secondary romance occurring between Savannah's best friend, Siobhan and Nick's best friend, Malcolm.

    Review:

I am a BIG fan of Paranormal Romance, but sometimes you get a book that is just so out there that you can't really get into it. Well, this is NOT one of those! I freakin loved Savannah and Nick!! The story is so original and I couldn't really put it down! I love it because there is more to it than just sex (yes you can actually have to much of it in a story)! Don't get me wrong, there is LOTS of it, but there is also an actual story there.

Ohhhh and now to the sex ;) I think each time got better and better, like a real relationship! They got more comfortable with each other and did more stuff together and it's panty dropping good!!!

Ok back to story now lol!

Savannah doesn't really know Nick is a Vampire until after the first time they have sex, but she pretty much figures it out on her own. It's not like a light bulb on obvious, but signs were there. She decides she cannot be without him though and they continue on. Soon after she finds out he had been getting odd letters from an anonymous person. I had an idea who it was, but its not confirmed until the end. This person makes a mess of their lives and no one really knows why.

Cliffhanger that left me craving for more! I cannot wait for book 2!!!!!!

Alexandra's flow is perfect and everything is spread out well, you never get bored or too overwhelmed. Again, I LOVED it! If you're a Paranormal Romance with some erotic mixed in then you are going to LOVE it too!

Tempted is a sinfully decadent story about a young women named Savannah who once was a model, but now she is a Personal Assistant to celebrities. Savannah has been burned in the past and is just looking to become a manager instead of a PA. When a chance meeting lands her a job with rock star Nick Hart, Savannah cannot believe her luck. This could be her big break. Savannah has to make herself concentrate on the job, and not the man. Nick has secrets of his own and he is unsure about telling another person, but the Savannah’s allure is hard to resist. The connection between Nick and Savannah like a blazing inferno. Each touch is torment. When they cannot resist the temptation anymore the come together like a whirlwind. Will Nick’s secret’s destroy them. Can he outrun his past, especially when his past is so very long.

Alexandra Anthony has written a tale of all consuming love, vampires, and centuries old feuds. From the very beginning this story grabs the reader and throws them into Savannah’s life. When she meets Nick the reader will almost swoon from the heat that passes between the two. The relationships between the characters is very important in this story. Their pasts, their presents, and the potential of their future collide. With threats, murders, and the media hounding them every second, can their love survive? Enter into the world of the Dark Hart Chronicles and let the darkness embrace you.

I was given this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book had my total interest from page one. I have not read any of Alexandra Anthony's books before picking this one up. I must say, she is on my must read author list now.

Tempted had it all; sexy hot scenes, romance, mystery, and a bit of action. Following Nick and Savannah's budding romance, fighting tooth and nail to not love one another all the while developing into people/vampires that can give and receive love was a treat. I hope there are many more in this series.

If I had to compare series or authors, I think those that are fan's of Kerrelyn Sparks/Jeanine Frost/Lynsay Sands
    would love Alexandra Anthony.

    Highly recommed this book!

Alexandra Anthony is an amazing writer of vampire erotica books. I can't wait for her other books to come out for this series. Nick is a down-to-Earth vampire with a lot of passion in him, as well as a little bit of a temper. Savannah is just as tempermental, but loves her vampire. Great story with even greater characters!

Savannah used to be a model and is now a personal assistant, she lands a great job as the pa for Nick Hart a rising rock star. While the two of them share an instant attraction Nick has a secret that could ruin everything. Can the two of them resist each other, will they give into their attraction and will secrets from the past keep this couple from being together. I enjoyed this book, the two main characters were interesting and likeable. The story line had a few twists to it that kept it interesting without being confusing or adding so much to the mix that you felt overwhelmed. I loved the build up in this book, it was done nice and slow leaving you little more frustrated every time just like the characters. The secondary characters in the story were interesting, funny and added some charm to the book. This is my first book by Alexandra Anthony but it won't be my last.
