Overview

When a woman is the magnet for the wrong man, it takes a bad boy to break old habits.

Carolina Rodriguez is a large-animal veterinarian on a mission to escape South Florida. Willing to do just about anything, she accepts a job in Annona, Texas over the internet from a family connection. At her cousin’s wedding, she runs into - literally - a handsome Texan in the parking lot. Matt McLemore is more than gorgeous, he’s Carolina’s new boss, and needs her help to determine why his cattle keep dying.

Matt proposes to introduce Carolina to his family as his girlfriend, giving her the opportunity to work and stay at his ranch without arousing his family’s suspicion. Only when she learns she’s the last chance to help save his family’s cattle reputation (given his father’s refusal to listen to reason and modern genetic testing) does she agree to act the part of his girlfriend.

Matt’s instantaneous attraction to Carolina is an excruciating temptation but a roll in the hay may prove too volatile to handle. He attempts to keep a hands-off relationship until she arrives on his ranch and she is too hot to resist.

Carolina refuses to admit Matt’s raw sensuality is more than overpowering or that she’s the least bit tempted by a smooth talking bad boy. By the time the lab reports comes back, they’ve explored every inch of each other. All of a sudden, this fiery affair is more than just a fling. When a past flame threatens to overwhelm their newfound romance, Matt must find a way to stake his claim to Carolina’s heart before it’s too late.

I love a good romance, so I was looking forward to reading this.

I love a good romance, so I was looking forward to reading this.

Carolina Rodriguez is a wonderful character. I liked her a lot. She is a veterinarian, who has been hired to find out what is killing the cattle at Evermore Ranch. When she meets Matt McLemore sparks fly!

Matt McLemore is an intriguing character. He certainly makes an impression! He's super smart and sexy. I liked him a lot too! The chemistry between these two characters is extremely HOT!

I have literally read hundreds of romance novels over the years (if not a thousand of them). One thing about this genre of books is that I know that they roughly follow a set formula - Boy meets girl, instant attraction, happy ending. However, it is the ability of the author to flesh out the story and make the characters come alive, which this author did perfectly. This story has a few twists that gives a freshness to it. I really enjoyed meeting the McLemore clan. They were a lovely family.
There are some seriously HOT scenes in this story that I must admit I wasn't quite expecting, but they definitely were intense! *Fanning myself!*. The ending felt a bit rushed and could have gone on a little longer, but I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more romances by this author in the future.

Susan Arden has written an exciting and sexy romance that had my heart racing!

Due to some of the scenes being spicier than the romance novels I used to read as a teenager, I do not recommend this book to younger teenage readers. However, I recommend this book if you love spicy HOT romance novels. - Lynn Worton

Carolina never considered herself a voyeur but her first encoun

Carolina never considered herself a voyeur but her first encounter with Matt turned her into one. Her embarrassment is complete when she hits his car as she tries to escape unseen. When they meet under more formal circumstances on opposite sides at her cousin's wedding she already has two reasons to dislike him. The sexual chemistry ignites and the Carolina 's wishes are overridden by her desires. When she finds he is her next client and she is the only person capable of helping him she has to decide if she can put her personal feelings aside and make their relationship strictly professional. She is a strong woman so no problem but then Matt introduces another complication. Her real reason for being at his ranch must be a secret. The scene is set for a sizzling encounter she will never forget.
I liked Carolina she is a warm, believable character. Matt is very attractive if a little arrogant but as he realises his true feelings for Carolina you have to like him too.
Full of interesting facts and breathtaking love scenes this book is definitely a keeper.
