Overview

Fallen Angels

Buffy's shaken to learn that Celina, the new girl in town, is actually a vamp who's heard of Buffy's rep. She's here to challenge the Slayer and even Angel — in L.A. — is concerned that this time, Buffy may be in over her head.

Celina's not the only monster skulking about the neighborhood. D'Hoffryn has returned to Sunnydale to offer Anya another chance as a vengeance demon. Can she give up her romance with Xander and the friendships she's forged as a mortal for another shot at immortality — even if it comes with a horrific price tag? Dawn tries to explain to Anya that humanity is worth the occasional heartache, even as she has doubts of her own.

Suddenly Buffy learns the terrifying truth about Celina: she's not just any vamp — she was once a Slayer herself. Buffy has struggled with her own dark side enough to question the subtle distinction between "Slayer" and killer. If Celina turned Buffy, and Willow restored Buffy's soul, could she possibly find love with Angel at last?

And, more importantly, would she still be a hero?

    Slayer vs. Slayer

It's the traditional Slayer vs. Vampire, but WAIT...this vampire is not only a girl...but an old slayer. Slayer vs. Slayer is what keeps you going. You never know what Vamp-Slayer is gonna do next. Also, Anya is having trouble with wanting to be human or be a demon again. You feel for Anya as you read about the hard decision she is going through. This book is awesome. There is lots of action and your emotions weave with the story.

    The best Buffy book!

This was the best Buffy book I have read. I have been waiting for a vampire to come along who was once a slayer. I wish they could have made this a episode on the show. It would have been awesome! I recommend this book to any Buffy fan. I enjoyed it so much I read it in one day. Great book, a must read!

    Great Story!

It is a shame that this book was not an episode season 5 which this is taken. It would have been a great treat. We have seen vampires with and without souls, it would have interesting to see a Slayer without one. I enjoyed it very much.

    The Bomb!

Anya gets another chance as a vengence demon. Does she keep her friends, or kill them? If you read it you will find out.

Buffy Meets Her Match in More Ways Than One

A new threat arrives in Sunnydale and Buffy is worried. Angel has previously encountered Celina under different circumstances and barely survived. I love the layout of this novel. Anya has the first encounter with the baddie, Celina, and we get to see more of how Anya's mind works. Great characterization. We get to see how Anya considers becoming a vengeance demon once again. This was fun since there were Season 6 applications inadvertently. The book is set in early Season 5 after Riley has left town and after Joyce's funeral. Buffy has Angel on her mind after seeing him so recently. Spike is in love with Buffy and feels hopeless at this point. There are some great Spike moments for all you Spike aficionados like me. Martial artists will appreciate the well written fight scenes. All in all, a big thumbs up!
