This is the second installment in the Angels Among Us Series. I am a big fan of Elise Marion. One of my favorite things about her writing is her use of description. It places the reader into her stories and keeps him/her involved. In tempted, we learn a lot about Heaven and Hell and how these realms affect Sara and Jackson's relationship.
Instead of giving a synopsis of the story since that's available on the book product page, I'm going to be honest and reveal what about this story I love the most. My favorite part of this entire book is Jackson. I love the way that Elise describes him, and how she represents a soldier scarred by war. My father is a Vietnam Veteran with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. It's an awful mix of survivor's guilt and night terrors that transform soldiers, making them detached and in need of escape from their own lives. Elise does an amazing job with this. I love when Sara touches Jackson for the first time on the street and she is struck by the darkness, the sadness, and the grief within him. The description is amazing. I felt his pain, and the author does an amazing job of showing the reader how this has affected Jackson's every day life and his relationships.
That said, I think it's Jackson's tortured past that makes this romance so beautiful. Either that, or I just really have a thing for men with tormented hearts who need healing. LOL! LOVE it! I love the way this story made me "feel." I am really really looking forward to the next installment.
