I am on chapter 5 of this book as I write this and I am not sure if I'll even finish it. The storyline is beyond ridiculous. Here is a woman who has busted her butt for 8 years on her family's business and the corporate raider that is planning a hostile takeover shows up and she turns to mush. She hasn't even been out with the man, knows nothing about him and yet she wonders if she might be falling in love with him? Could the author have insulted intelligent professional women anymore? I think not. If I can manage to finish this book I highly doubt I will read anything else by Ms. Fox.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Tempting acquisitions iss an excellent contemporary romance. it has all the right elements in just the right amounts to satisfy the cravings of romance lovers like me.
Keira McBride is a very intelligent and independent lady. She and her two sisters have turned their grandfather's fledgning media enterprise, McBride Media, around in record time. This is no thanks to their father who would rather chase skirts than profit. Just as things are looking rosy, Nathan Cooper, corporate raider arrives on the scene with plans to take over McBride Media. What he doesn't anticipate are the fireworks that fly when he sees Keira McBride in action. I loved this part. The author did an awesome job of describing how Nathan was not only supportive of Keira's business acumen but he admired her for her intellect, skill, poise, and drive. Nathan is a man that enjoys seeing his woman perform well in her chosen career and he's not afriad to let her know it. This fuels Keira's desires and opens her heart to him.
Keira and Nathan come together in a series of sizzling hot sex scenes. They have wonderful chemistry, and the author writes of their emotions so vividly that I felt them myself. All of us have our lives shaped whether for better or worse with or without intention by our parents and family histories. The author easily demonstrated how insecurities and errors made by Keira and Nathan were rooted in their attempts to avoid being like their parents. Unfortunatley as is often the case the more you try not to be that person the more you actually act like them. Thankfully Nathan and Keira have siblings that refuse to allow them to lose their chance at love.
Tempting Acquisitions was a quick, easy read with plenty of chemistry and well-written dialogue to keep your interest. I enjoyed reading this book, and I look forward to reading more of her books. I'm betting there will be a book 2 that involves Nathan's brother and Keira's sister.

In Tempting Acquisitions, we see a family owned company that is now being ran by the three sisters who are the heirs to the company’s legacy. Keira McBride’s story is up first, and boy, is it a really tantalizingly good one to read.
Keira is the CEO of her family’s magazine and has worked her butt off for the last ten or so years trying to bring it back to its former glory after her father essentially ruined what was a flourishing and well-supported publication.
Throughout the story we are shown how dedicated and committed to the magazine Keira and her younger sisters, Camryn and Mayson are to their jobs. All three are strong, independent, successful women who work hard and don’t play quite enough. And we all know what they say about all work and no play, right?
Unfortunately, at a time when the sisters are trying their best to revive one of their very long-standing magazines, trouble arrives in the name of Nathan Cooper. And he’s the kind of trouble we all wished we had in our lives, at least in my opinion.
Nathan is a billionaire who takes over companies for a living and is quite excellent at his job. So when he sets his sights on Keira’s company, the sisters are forced to take up battle stations because Nathan is as ruthless and business savvy as he is gorgeous and charming. But of course, he has some of his own issues that prompted him to become the man that he is today. And will he be able to go against the grain – what he feels is in his blood – and open himself up to something real, something that he’s never experienced before, like finding his equal?
But then things turn from just being about Nathan acquiring the McBride sisters’ company and about acquiring Keira herself. A very Tempting Acquisition, indeed. Things pretty much are heated and flirty from the very beginning once these two meet in person. Nathan is bold and sure of himself when it comes to women, but he’s never encountered such a woman as Keira McBride in all his bachelor days. And the attraction is mutual for Keira as well, but how can one associate with the enemy and still stay intact after all is said and done? How does one keep business and pleasure separate? That is what Keira wants to know in this story. Nathan claims that his feelings for her on a personal level are completely and totally separate from his business interest in her company. They can keep both parts of their lives separate and still get what they both want without involving the two.
However, “best laid plans” and all that, things just don’t seem to stay as compartmentalized as the should, because Nathan wasn’t just attracted to the physical appearance of Keira, but also by her business sense and attractive mind.
So it takes him – and her – awhile to realise that what they had on a personal level would trickle over in to their professional lives, but the question is: Will Nathan give up all he’s worked for and his reputation for love? Will Keira lose her family’s legacy?
Gah, I cant tell you how much I enjoyed reading this story. I’m a big fan of Addison’s work and once I saw that she’d written something new that I could just sink my teeth into, I was completely sold. Also, she didn’t let me down. Her writing style was on point, the story flowed very well, no weird transitions, and a very intense and sexy story. Her characters weren’t without flaw but I loved them. Nathan Cooper was ruthless, yet appealing, but he wasn’t a bastard.
Keira McBride was a very strong heroine who never backed down even when she felt that her feelings for Nathan were changing into something … more. Something deeper than just the physical. She was a businesswoman who was always on top of her game but didn’t deny herself this chance at a steamy romance with an attractive and sexy man! And who knows, if something more came of it… all the better.
All in all, a very flirtatious, sensual and steamy read that I thoroughly enjoyed and am looking forward to devouring more of! Also, even though the title was a little on the cheesy side, I felt that it was very apropos with the storyline.
