Dillon and Alyssa had some awesome moments!!

This book was sooo good!! I loved Alyssa and Dillon. I enjoyed how they were friends their whole lives and kept this one secret from each other and they thought everyone else. Some of the stuff they said or thought made me laugh so hard! This book had me cheering for Dillon and urging Alyssa and her entourage to catch him. Trent was a great guy and I loved how he knew so many people and all of these people were willing to help someone they just met. I couldn't put this book down.

Absolutly loved it . I usually don't like reading short stories or books w/ less than 200 pages . I always end up frustrated n feeling like a lot of the story was rushed or left out. That was not the case w/this book. Absolutly loved it !!! Gina L. Maxwell is an amazing author.

Dillon and Alyssa have been best friends since childhood and both have fathers who can't commit to love and marriage.
So you can imagine they don't think it would every work for them...so best friends it is.
Problem is they are both secretly in love with each other. Alyssa decides its time to move on and hits a
romance book convention to liven up her life.
Dillon decides..Oh no I don't think so. So begins a sweet short story of best friends to lovers. I really enjoyed this book

With a title that gives a huge hint at what to expect, Tempting Her Best Friend was a great short sweet read from Gina L. Maxwell with a good dose of sexy. Novella's often leave me wanting more, but this didn't - Alyssa and Dillon didn't need any more and it's set things up nicely for for more in the series.

Aly and Dillon were completely loveable and having been best friends for 18 years they already know each other inside and out. They live next door to one another, they hang out together and they're relaxed around another. But when Aly, sick of waiting for Dillon to see her as more than his friend, departs for Sin City to find herself some sin, he decides to play his hand.

"All you have to do is kiss me. If you can honestly tell me it feels like kissing your brother, that'll be the end of it."

Play the odds or risk it all...

Granted I pretty much guessed where the story was heading early on and it didn't hold any surprises, but I still enjoyed it hugely. Whilst much tamer than Gina's Brazen series, if you are a fan I doubt you'll be disappointed. A great sexy start to the What Happens in Vegas series and I look forward to seeing how Maddy's story unfolds.

    Amazing

    ## This book was so much fun to read. I truly enjoyed it and I know I will read this again and again because this is one of those feel-good stories you just can't resist. There was so much humor interwoven into the romance which is always a plus in my book. And don't even get me started with the sex scenes. Perfection. The two things I didn't like was that the hero slept with so many different women even though he was supposedly in love with the heroine all that time and once he confesses his love and devotion to the heroine she turned him down even though that's what she has been wanting for years. That didn't ring true. But if there wasn't that, there wouldn't be a book. And those things won't keep me from reading again. Nice job, looking forward to Maddy's story.

Very enjoyable story. I so much enjoyed Dillon. I liked the relationship Alyssa and Dillon start out with and the revelations each discover along the way.

I marked the story down because Alyssa's thoughts, behaviors and actions in Los Vegas were so far out there. I just didn't understand what her problem was. Didn't make any sense. The characterization was solid and the change did not seem to jive. I was disappointed in that.

I recommend to 14+, it was okay.

What a fun, quick read this was and it had me hooked from the first page. I just loved both Alyssa and Dillon, who have been best friends since they were kids. They both have some issues from their past that have them keeping their feelings for each other under wraps, but when Dillon finds out that Alyssa is going to Vegas and plans on hooking up with some cover model at the romance novel convention she is attending, well that is just not going to do…especially when Dillon is more than willing to help her out if a hook up is what she wants!

I’m not sure what I loved more about this book – the snarky dialogue, the dirty talk, or the bizarre and colorful cast of characters that get woven into the story! How can you not love a heroine who can play just as dirty as the hero?

I just love Gina Maxwell and her writing style. It was so easy to get caught up in the story and I would often find myself laughing out loud at the banter between the characters and the situations they found themselves in. And of course who doesn't love a happy ever after, especially when there is some work involved to get there and the characters end up being exactly what the other needs to help them heal and learn to give their hearts completely.

A great read that I thoroughly enjoyed!

First off I must say I am a huge Gina Maxwell fan and have loved every book she has written so far. And this one was no disappointment.  Aly and Dillon were amazing together. I love best friends who fall in love.  And I loved the reasonings Dillon gave in the book for wanting them to be together.  For me this book was a true fairy tale and a surprise switching of roles. There was never a lag in reading for me.  I could not put it down and had to finish it in one reading.  It had a very heartwarming feel to it that when I read it my heart felt swollen.

I did receive this book from entangled in exchange for an honest review but have also purchased the book too.

    ARC Courtesy of Entangled Publishing

I am forever a fan of this author and this little gem of a book is no different. I love friends to lovers stories as I guess they always seem more believable than say meeting and falling in love with a billionaire..... We all have had a male best friend, so we can all relate.

This is Alyssa and Dillions story. They have been best friends for 18 years. They are so close that they even live next door to each other in matching town houses. Aly has been in love with Dillion for years but no matter how much she hints, her bff does not seem to get the message. After all she gets a front row view of all the women entering and leaving his house for years.

Alyssa is a romance junkie and she is off to a convention in Vegas, where she decides she will seduce her friend and who knows if things go right, maybe they could even get married - I mean they are in Vegas after all.

When Dillion arrives for dinner with Alyssa that night, he once again lets her know that he is not interested in a relationship and that he has the best of both worlds....Dinner and movie nights during the week with Alyssa and sexy times with his lady friends on the weekends.

Alyssa decides enough is enough and she is getting over Dillion in Vegas this weekend with a one night stand with a cover model at the romance convention. When she shares this little ditty with Dillion he freaks out and follows her to Vegas. I mean if all she wants is sex and a few orgasms then he can be the one to provide them for her.....not some cheesy cover model.

This is truly a great little story and you will no doubt love it. Entangled's new line is really proving to worth its wait in gold as these books just get better and better...

Short, sweet, fun and sexy. :) Even though I'm more of an Urban Fantasy/Gothic/Thriller/Paranormal Romance reader, I haven't read very many contemporaries aside from a few category romances. That being said, I really enjoyed this book. It was fun, easy to read, yet passionate and gave me the tension I needed between two characters. There were some cute moments, some serious ones, and definitely some heat. The colorful secondary characters added fun to the mix as well. I liked this book so much I finished it in one day because I couldn't wait to see what happened between Alyssa and Dillon. And really, who doesn't love a traditional and real type of love story? :)

*I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

When Alyssa was in first grade and Dillon was in third, she was moved up two grades and he protected her from the kids that teased her for being so smart. They became best friends and 18 years later they are still inseparable. They live in adjoining townhouses, she cooks for them, they spend evenings watching TV, and they live almost like a couple, except for the fact that he has never picked up on her hints that she wishes for more from their relationship. Desperate, she hatches a plan to have a wild weekend in Vegas, but when Dillon finds out how wild her plans really are, he decides to hop a plane to Vegas and intends to offer himself to her for the weekend with no strings.

One of my favorite tropes is the best friends who fall in love. As Dillon states at one point, a lasting relationship needs a strong foundation, and an 18 year friendship is about as stable as you can get. I liked that Alyssa was funny and smart, and Dillon cares about her and respects her. Dillon was strong but sweet, funny but kind and the perfect amount of alpha once he figured out his feelings for her. This book had a lot of humor and I could easily see it play out in my head as a romantic comedy movie. I found myself smiling and laughing a lot as I read.

If you enjoy funny, sweet, and sexy romance this is the perfect book for you.

I love a good friends-to-lovers story. When you find one that's hot enough to make your toes wiggle, gives you a good laugh and makes you sigh at the end, you've got a winner. I loved the way the author brought the back-bone out in Alyssa. Sure, she was sad when she came to grips with the fact that she wasn't going to have her fantasy relationship with Dillon, but did she wallow in it? No. Did she put on her big-girl panties and move on? No. She stepped into the sexy thong she'd bought for her trip--and hopefully Dillon--and went to Vegas. Did Dillon ever see those barely there undies? Oh, yes ma'am, he did. And that fantasy she'd been having...Oh, yeah!

High-five to Gina Maxwell for another great book.

This was a fun sexy read. Poor Alyssa and Dillon they have been best friends since they were little. They are as close as two people can be without being in a committed relationship and they lies the problem. They both have feelings for each other, but keep that little secret to themselves. Misunderstandings ensue and off to Vegas Alyssa goes with Dillon hot on her heels. Will one wild sex filled weekend show them it's a fling or forever? I loved the airport scene it was fitting for those two. All the characters in this one was great, quirky and funny. Definitely give this one a look.

Reviewed for Read Your Writes Book Reviews
    by Kim

I will admit, I’m late to the Gina Maxwell bandwagon. I had no ideal what to expect. Well, I should have known that the book was going to pack some heat. I didn’t expect to laugh so much.

Alyssa Miller and Dillon Alexander have been friends since they were kids, almost twenty years. During most of that time, they have liked each other as more than friends, they just haven’t said anything. They’re next door neighbors who have been in a sexless relationship for years. They’re always hanging out together and she’s always cooking dinner for him. Total couple.

Dillon fears that he is just like his father, unable to commit to anyone permanently. Thus, Alyssa is left on the sideline watching women parade in and out of Dillon’s door. Now, she’s tired and is finally ready to go after what she wants. Romance lover Alyssa is planning on attending a romance book convention in Las Vegas. She wants Dillon to join her and hopes “Sin City” lives up to its name. Too bad things don’t go according to plan.

With a little push from his sister, Dillon eventually flies to Vegas to claim his woman. What transpires is entertainingly funny, hot, and totally illegal. Needless to say my first Gina Maxwell book was a success. I will say initially, I thought that the epilogue wasn’t needed, but it totally set up the next book in the series. I can’t wait to see how it plays out.

I am a HUGE fan of Gina Maxwell. I love her characters from her Fighting From Love series and was nervous when she moving away from that series to write about Las Vegas! I was like...WHAT????

Well let me say that I was wrong and I never should have doubted Gina. I could not put this story down. It was laugh out loud funny, swoony sexy, and all around a terrific read.

Our heroine, Alyssa Miller has been in love with her best friend, Dillon Alexander since she was 6 years old and he was 8. I loved Alyssa and her quirky personality. I love how she is slightly OCD...I'm married to one of those! :) She likes things a certain way in her life and doesn't like to deviate from her structure. Dillon on the other hand is completely delicious! Tall, dark hair and a body perfect enough to even be Tarzan along with such a wonderful, compassionate heart!

Alyssa's love life has been lacking. She decides she needs to spice things up so she is going to subtly try to let Dillon know that she would like something more with him. He doesn't bite. What she doesn't know is that Dillon has been in love with her too but he's afraid to ruin what they do have. When Dillon doesn't make a move, Alyssa decides she is going to have a one-night stand while she is in Las Vegas at a Romance Novel Convention. This doesn't sit well with Dillon of course and his "older" sister convinces him he needs to go to Las Vegas and be the person Alyssa needs.

I loved their time in Las Vegas. It was sweet, sexy, funny and tender all wrapped together. I loved the characters that popped up...Trent, Marilyn, Elvis...they were a riot! It was a perfect happy ending for such a fun story. Well done Gina! I'm sure hoping that we will be getting a story for Maddie! She sounds like she could be a great story!

I was given an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review, even though I had already pre-ordered this story. Get this story...you won't be sorry.

    3.5 Creme brûlée stars

Alyssa Miller finds herself in Las Vegas for a romance author's convention, hoping to get a steamy opportunity with one of the cover models. She is sick and tired of hiding her urges, especially from her next-door neighbour and best friend, Dillon Alexander.

Dillon has always remained up close, but not personal with his best friend, Aly. Knowing her since he was eight years old, he would love to become her one and only...but in another lifetime perhaps. He wasn't the right man, he couldn't possibly be. So instead he casually entertains women. The ones that pour in and out through his virtual revolving door.

When Aly informs Dillon of her actual intentions in Sin City, he decides that perhaps it should be him that fulfils the role...just for the weekend at least.

I love Gina Maxwell, but entered this book with trepidation, given the disappointment I had for the last book I had read of hers. I certainly wasn't disappointed with her latest offering. The humour, the dialogue, the characters all made for a very entertaining read.

The backdrop of the romance convention was ideal for these characters to discover even more about each other, given their lifelong friendship, and I'm also a bit partial to Creme brûlée.Complimentary copy generously provided by Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review.
