    Trying to hard

The storyline was tepid with the typical down and out black girl from a drug-infested background. However, I liked how the brother Caden pined for her for a long time and kept it hidden, that made up for the stereotypes. The sex scenes were weird because I can't imagine a rich white man from the North (Rhode Island) calling a woman baby girl and if he does he shouldn't - it totally ruined the story. The sex scenes were also tepid and not hot, hot, hot like Lena Matthews stories about the Chevalier boys. Overall, not awful but needing some work.

    Enjoyable

Tempting Mr Parker reminded me of a spicier and interracial version of a Diana Palmer novel. I thought the story was appropriately paced for a short story. I can't wait to read more from this up and coming author!

    Ugh.....didn't like

I've enjoyed all of the other stories I've read by this author...this one left me flat and bored. It read like an "erotic Tyler Perry" movie. I didn't like either the hero or the heroine. I was expecting a good, challenging story, like "Love Unspoken." I don't mind flawed characters...or even the use of the C U Next Tuesday word...make me want to like at least one of the characters! When the author throws the plot into a tailspin, make me CARE about at least one of the characters!"""

I didn't quite like the male character at first, but after reading I fell in love with both characters and their story.

    Ummmm.......that was interesting

Not a bad read, just kinda rough. The hero isnt all that likeable. The herione was pretty sad and on the brink of being pathetic. And for pete's sake, never ever use the c word. Ever. The use of "baby girl" by an upper crust white guy didn't jive. But the were some nice moments.

    Erotica at it's finest

I absolutely loved all the elements of this story. In the beginning I wanted to hate Caden Parker but the tension between the two. Great interracial romance and hot erotica.

    Wonderful.

This is the first book I am reading from this author and I am impressed. I liked that the heroine was an ordinary girl who had some issues in life but did not keep her down. I saw nothing stereotypical about it. Not every heroine can be a high powered strong corporate black woman. Shakara rocked it.
The hero, Caden, well. He was something else. He was a jerk in the beginning and I can see how he behaved that way, but I think he proved his love for Shakara. He also had some deeper issues to deal with. All in all, a good read. I look forward to reading more from this author. Oh and the sex scenes were sizzling. HOT.
