Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Ten in the Bed retold by Penny Dale shows a boy's stuffed animals banging, thumping and bonking out of his bed as they "Roll over, roll over!" in this counting rhyme. Once Hedgehog, Zebra and the others are on the floor, the "little one said, `I'm cold! I miss you!' "(Sept.) Copyright 2001 Cahners Business Information.
Children's Literature
Kids will enjoy counting down from ten as a young toddler's stuffed animals are tossed or roll out of his bed. In the end, the little boy is lonesome all by himself, so the nine jump back up and get comfy again. The illustrations add charm, especially through the great expressions on the faces of each toy animal and the way they look as they land on the bedroom floor. Happily no one is hurt. For all those kids who sleep in a bed surrounded by their favorite pals, this board book will be a real treat. 2001, Candlewick Press, $6.99. Ages 6 mo. to 2. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot

    more from this reviewer

Wonderful story that your child will repeat over and over again

This should be considered a classic. Your child will want to re-read this book over and over again. It's simple repetition and lots of fun if you read aloud with animation.
