Book author, columnist, and mother of sons with autism and ADHD, Ellen Notbohm’s writings on autism and general interest subjects have been published on every continent (except Antarctica—yet). Her books, Ten Things Every Child with Autism Wishes You Knew, Ten Things Your Student with Autism Wishes You Knew, and The Autism Trail Guide are ForeWord Book of the Year finalists. Both Ten Things books are also iParenting Media Award recipients.     A must have resource!!

    I am a 1:1 paraeducator for a student with autism. This book has truly been a great resource for me. It is an easy to read book that you will read again and again and learn something new! When I have a rough day I flip through the book for reassurance and guidance. I even bought two more books for his Special Ed. teacher and Classroom teacher. They both loved it also.

    Buy this book for every educator in your childs life!

    Whether your child is autistic or neuortypical, your child's educator will benefit from this book. I began reading it with a highlighter in hand (to assure the teacher would get the important parts when I gave it to her) and was unable to find anything to highlight in the first twenty pages. ABSOLUTELY EVERY WORD IN THIS BOOK IS IMPORTANT!! Crucial even! An amazing book and should be on the reading list of any person wishing to be an educator. I suggest you buy a copy for yourself, your child's teacher, paraeducator, swim coach, band director, tutor, babysitter!! It is THAT good!

    A must-read for teachers

    This is an amazing book that truly helped me to understand how to better encourage the students with Autism that find themselves in my classroom. I can 'make a difference on their staying the course and achieving or breaking their will to do well.' I can make my whole class effective if I can be inclusive and not just 'ignore or tolerate' the individual that is 'different' than everyone else. I can educate the other kids in my class in the process by my actions and communicate effectively so that all are learning.

    Awesome!

    This book is great. You don't have to be a "teacher" to read it! A parent or caregiver is a teacher too. A lot of information in a easy reading format. Feels like she is sitting in your living room talking to you.

    Highly Recommended

    This book has been very helpful in dealing with not only our austistic students, but all who have a disability. I have to say it is a must read!
