Meet the Author

Judith McNaught

Judith McNaught is the New York Times bestselling author who first soared to stardom with her stunning bestseller Whitney, My Love, and went on to win the hearts of millions of readers with Once and Always, Something Wonderful, A Kingdom of Dreams, Almost Heaven, Paradise, Perfect, Until You, Remember When, Someone to Watch Over Me, the #1 bestseller Night Whispers, and other novels. There are more than thirty million copies of her books in print. She lives in Houston.

Biography

USA Today has said, "When it comes to writing romance, Judith McNaught is in a class by herself." Interestingly, while McNaught's career as a bestselling author has been thriving for many years, she has led the life of a Renaissance woman, dabbling in the fields of radio, film, and finance before settling into her writer's role. The first female executive producer at a CBS radio station, McNaught also served stints as an assistant director of a film crew, a comptroller of a major trucking company, president of a temporary employment agency, and president of an executive search firm.

McNaught first clicked with the reading public when her book Whitney My Love (considered by many to be the first full-length Regency historical novel) was published as a paperback original in 1985, promptly winning the Romantic Times Award for Best New Historical Novel. As a result of her newfound fame, two previously published romantic tales were reissued with commercial success. By the 1990s, McNaught had switched to contemporary romance, and with 1998's Night Whispers, she segued into romantic suspense, an area she has honed to polished perfection.

A spectacular storyteller with legions of loyal fans, McNaught proves her chops with each successive book. Honors and awards have followed in a steady stream. In addition to the Affaire de Coeur Golden Pen Certificate, she has received a Romantic Times Career Achievement Award honoring her entire body of work. Hers was the first romance novel ever chosen as a main selection by the Book-of-the-Month Club; and her titles consistently turn up on The New York Times bestseller list.

In between books, McNaught devotes herself to several charities and is active in the promotion of women's literacy.

Not her greatest but still entertaining

I have read almost all of Judith McNaught's books and in spite of some bad reviews I still read it. This book had some highly unlikely concepts and totally believable situations... I found myself a little disappointed in the story line but in true Judith fashion; she kept me in suspense. I could not put the book down. I had to know what was going to happen next to these two unlikely lovers. I found it enjoyable even though it wasn't the best story ever.

    Disappointed

I am a huge Judith McNaught fan, I have enjoyed all of her books... accept this one. The female character was ridiculous and I was just disappointed in the whole thing. I didn't find her male character strong and it was just a let down. I don't recommend this book, but her others are very enjoyable. This one seemed thrown together.

    Not her best...

I love every single book that Judith McNaught writes and when i was casually going through her published books, i found that the only one book i didn't read was Tender Truimph. I was so excited to read it but i was sorely dissapointed from the third chapter of the book itself. The heroine was really annoying, the hero was too nice but then also too dominating and had very sexist views that i really disagreed with!! Overall, this book was NOT good but i read it and then read her other classics just to make sure that this was Judith McNaught

    Disappointed

I started reading her books last year and it was just one great book after another. But when I finally got to this one it was just disappointing, Mr Galverra as handsome as he is, is just a typical macho. I don't see any woman falling for someone like him. I'm happy to say this is the only book I wouldn't recommend.

    Good Read...

So, since the book had Judith McNaught's name on it I bought it...maybe she should market clothes too! Anyhow, the book was a good read, it wasn't the most fascinating of story lines but it was interesting enough to have me flipping through the pages. Honestly, I'm a sucker for rich handsome men proposing marriage to beautiful women the moment they set their eyes on them. That's why it's called fiction so that you could fantasize about things that couldn't possibly happen in real life...without major consequences.

    Just Awful...

I love every book by this author except this one. The plot was stupid and Ramon, as handsome as he was, had to be the worst possible hero ever. No woman in her right mind would like this guy. Katie, who started out strong, let this guy say and do whatever he wanted, and she bent to his will every time, even when she didn't want to.

    Disappointing

I love romance novel and I adore Judith McNaught books. When I think of a Judith McNaught book, I automatically think of something that I am not going to be able to put down. I know after I finish I will be thirsty for more. Well after reading this one... I wasn't thirsty at all.

    Surprising Disappointment

I am a big fan of Judith Mcnaught, but I must say this book was an extreme disappointment. The characters were unrealistic and frankly ridiculous at times. How can a guy wearing Armani be mistaken for a migrant worker?? I was barely able to finish the book... I am happy to say this is the only book written by Judith like this...and I have read ALL of them!

    Better then I hoped

I'll be quite blunt: I could not stand the intro. I started it, put it down, and like taking medicine, continued reading. But much to my surprise, it got a lot better. I enjoyed the way McNaught made the characters balance eachother out, Katie's irrational and modern ways vs. Ramon's traditional attidues. Once you get into it, you cannot put it down!

    A True Romance!!

I love a good romance novel, especially the sultry love scenes. Having never read J. McNaught before, I guess I expected a typical romance with a few 'love scenes' thrown in. WELL, what it may lack in sultry love scenes it makes up for in true uninhibited PASSION and LOVE. I could not put it down because I just couldn't wait to see where the story would go. If you want REAL romance, this is the ticket!

    Whitney My Love

I could not put this book down! As a matter of fact whenever I start to get bored by reading romance novels; I always know that I can pick up Whitney My Love and find the joy in reading again. Plus Clayton Westmoreland is probably the sexy romance character ever created! This book is truly an original!!!

It was very good! But not the best of Judith's books

It was very good but it really wasnt JM's style I think she is better off to keep writing ramance books like Until you, Whitney, my Love, and Once and Always. This time Judith took a big turn. But it was also a wonderful book and i do recemend it to the ladys who like Amercican -Puerto Ricon-Spaniards such as 'Rafe'

    A DIFFERENT STYLE

I LOVE JUDITH'S BOOK AND I WOULD PAY ANYTHING TO GET ONE OF HER BOOKS. BUT TENDER TRIUMPH WAS A DISAPPOINTEMNT. I KEPT LOOKING AT THE COVER THINKING I BOUGHT THE WRONG BOOK. JUDITH MCNAUGH WAY OF WRITING IS UNIQUE AND TENDER TRIUMPH FELT LIKE IT WASN'T HER WHO IS WRITING THE BOOK.
