Tales of the Scrimshaw Doll

Tessa Jordan, abusive marriage survivor and owner of Tessa's Treasures, an antique store, has sworn off relationships of any kind--until she comes face to face with the object of her teenage crush and falls into his arms, literally. Widower Lucas Raven has returned to Duncan after retiring from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. Lucas has two things in mind: ask Tessa to look at the antiques he found in the attic of his house, and see if his feelings for her have lasted through the years. She does, and they have--tenfold.

When Tessa realizes the scrimshaw doll she's agreed to sell has a curse attached to it, she wonders if it's behind the strange things happening to her. Is it truly the doll wreaking havoc, or is someone out to get her? And since she's sworn off relationships, how can she keep a very determined Lucas at arm's length?

    Loving the HERO!

Another wonderful read by Callie Hutton. One of my favorite things about Callie Hutton's story telling abilities is the way she develops her heroes! They always have a dash of humor mixed in with respect, fun, protectiveness and undeniably sexy, good looks. I can't help but fall in love a little bit more with each one.

I truly enjoyed Tessa's Treasures. I loved the conflict in Tessa's life and how she still was able to cautiously let Lucas break down her barriers and show her what love could be like from a good man. And I love the tenderness that Lucas offered her to help her overcome her fears.

I was thrilled at the action and hint of mystery woven in and enjoyed each page more than the last!

Kudo's to Callie Hutton for sharing another enjoyable story with her readers!
