From the New York Times Best Selling Author of the Accidentally On Purpose trilogy...

"You were born to be mine and I was born to be yours."

Donya Stewart's chest filled with the soft beating wings of butterflies when she first met Emmet Grayne's green eyes at the ripe age of five. Unable to identify the tugging pressure within her when in his presence, Donya moved through the first several years of her life addled by her feelings for the boy who was her best friend's brother, and very much like her own sibling. But one cool autumn night in her mystifying teenage years, Emmet erases any ideas Donya has of him being anything like a sibling.

Donya and Emmet, unable to deny the invisible cord that fetters them together on an incredibly visceral level, begin a long journey on a road abounding with challenges, hurdles, and destructive forces. Their love for one another is absolute, and the emotional link between them is strong, but when they make a series of painful decisions and mistakes that pull them apart, the strength of that tether is challenged.

"The tether contorted and quivered and groaned in protest."

If you are in search of an angst-filled romance novel, get tied into Tethered...

Let me preface this by saying that I absolutely LOVED the Accidentally on Purpose series and that is why I bought Tethered. I loved the hottness of the series, the butterflies, and the angst. Tethered had the same feel that the other books had but it had SO much angst that it was almost hard to read. I hardly ever felt like I could put the book down because just as things were getting happy, they would get awful again, and I couldn't leave it like that without feeling depressed. I have no problem reading for hours but this book is over 500 pages, and it was just not possible to do in one day (even for me!!). I don't think it's a spoiler to say that in this book Donya and Emmet get together and split up multiple times throughout their lifetime. The problem is that the reasoning behind the splits each time didn't always jive with me. I understand that they were young and immature but good grief they didn't get any better as they got older either! *****SPOILER ALERT!********* The fact that Emmet says he loves her but is unwilling to wait until she is ready (which I don't think is a shock when she is just 15!) seems weird to me, especially with him screwing around. Then when they break up because he got someone pregnant, TWICE!! It just was too much. How angry Donya would get over things and then the awful hurtful things Emmet would say but would then be forgiven. By the time they got together I was just exhausted, but also annoyed. All in all, it was still a greater writer with great characters but this book was just too much back and forth and immaturity for my liking. I'm glad I read it to see how it all played out, but I'm also annoyed that it took so long. Hope that helps other readers.

First let me start off by saying this book was a really good read. It had my emotions running everywhere. The reason why has four stars is because I thought it was a little stereotypical when it came to the little black girl and she had a broken home so not every black person has a broken home. The characters in the book will written at times you could have slapped both Donya and Emmitt. But hey I get it they were young and stupid and this is their journey so overall great book will read it again

It was good don' t get me wrong. I just feel like Donya deserved better than she got. She also did hot deserve any of the blame, that honor was 100% Emmet.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO EVERYONE! I ALSO RECOMMMEND THAT YOU READ THE ACCIDENTALLY ON PURPOSE TRILOGY FIRST TO AQUAINT YOU WITH SOME OF THE CHARACTERS.

I believe I a new favorite author. I love how this series of books have all tied together. Tethered was so hard to put down. I would get so wrapped up reading and it would be midnight. I would highly recommend starting with Accidentally on Purpose trilogy first as I said before sice they all tie together. You won't regret one moment of reading them.

Truly great love story from start to finish. It was hard to put this book down for mundane things, such as sleep & food. Although the age differences at times were a bit disturbing. No 20 year old should be interested in a 16 year old regardless of her maturity level.
