    A Must for Weekend Cooks!

This is one book you have to purchase, if you like downhome, no nonsense cooking that gives you great results, and with raving reviews from your friends and guests. Dabbling with barbeque is my hobby, and with the Perini Steak Rub recipe, it made my fixins fit for a king! And if you think it's good on steaks, try it on meatloaf. You'll love it.

Great Cookbook!! A Must to have in the Kitchen

This cookbook includes some of the best recipes I have ever experienced. I have ordered several books to give as gifts. The buttermilk pie and jalepeno cheesecake are superb!!! Great Job Tom Perini!!!

    Not What I Expected

I do a lot of BBQ, Dutch Oven, and Smoke cookin', trying to duplicate what the cowboys had years ago. Since the title is 'Texas Cowboy Cooking' I was disappointed in the book. The receipes are all GREAT, except that I was looking for more basic cowboy fare than: 'Autumn Fruit Salad, Shrimp Dip, Hot Crab Spread, Roasted Garlic-Horseradish Cream Sauce, and Lisa's favorite Caesar Salads'. I was looking for more 'Chuck Wagon Cooking' representing what was served in Dutch Ovens on Cattle drives rather than a contemporary cookbook. There was some of that, but not enough. Good cookbook, but the title is a little misleading.

    Texas Cowboy Cooking

Texas Cowboy Cooking is not cooking fancy. The recipes are from the Perini Ranch Steakhouse which is famous world-wide for authentic regional cuisine. The recipes are great and included in the book is well-told cowboy lore. Every recipe I've made from this cookbook has been a winner. The Zucchini Perini recipe got raves and the Ranch Beans are the best yet. I've just ordered two more copies to give as wedding presents.
