Annie had no idea when she became stranded on the side of the road that Burke would end up being the love of her life. She's left New York in an attempt to find a place where she belongs. Almost immediately Annie falls in love with the small town of Weltworth. The people are friendly and the atmosphere is near perfect. Add to that the hot, good looking cowboy Burke and she's got a great place to try and start over. Even Annie doesn't want to fall into the arms of another man, it's hard to resist Burke.
Burke is busy running his ranch. He's put out an ad for a wife, but that doesn't mean he's looking for just anyone. More especially, he doesn't want a city girl like Annie. When he stops to help her with Old Rowdy's beat up truck he's doing it because that's the way he was raised. Not because Annie is beautiful. There may be sparks, but he's not interested in taking things further to see where they go. His ex, Alice, left a bad taste when it comes to city girls. But no matter what he can't seem to keep Annie out of his thoughts.
Together Annie and Burke try to ignore what their heart and bodies want, but once they finally let go they can't stop. There's humor, tears, surprises, and a little suspense as the story unfolds and these two find the love they were looking for in a place they hadn't expected.

Texas Haven is a multi-layered book. While we have a great cowboy
romance developing, we also watch Annie, the heroine overcome the abuse
in her life and slowly take charge. I enjoyed watching her grow stronger
as love comes into her life. Burke, the hero, is handsome, sexy and
sometimes dense in ways only a man can be dense. Ms. Ball has painted a
great picture of the West and characters that seemed so real to me I
felt I could reach out and touch them. The writing is smooth as glass,
scenes beautifully described but not overdone. I loved this book and
couldn't put it down. Texas Haven is a true romance with some suspense,
bad girl you love to hate, a plot that kept me guessing and a wonderful
ending.
