Overview

Texas Ranger Wes Rawlins has a heap of trouble on his hands. The county sheriff has been murdered, squatters are entrenched on the dead man's land, and no one can tell Wes why the sheriff wired for help in the first place.

So Wes rides out to the sheriff's farm—and finds himself looking down a gun barrel aimed by Aurora Sinclair, a spirited, young divorcée with a house full of orphans to protect.

Is Aurora an innocent schoolmarm battling an illegal land grab? Or is she a cunning temptress who plugged her lawman-lover to seize his sprawling homestead?

In this high-stakes game of cat and mouse, Wes dare not lose his head. The trouble is, he may have already lost his heart...

A real gem! Adrienne deWolfe's books are a fun read--rich with emotion (laughter, fun, tears) and genuinely made me care. Hard to put down....I've lost sleep over her books as I simply had to see what happened next. Truly heroes to fall in love with!

This historical western romance captured my interest and kept it until the very last page! It did have a few twists that aren't normally found in historical western romance, such as divorce and a romance between an older woman and younger man. Wes was such a lovable and charming bad boy, with a weakness for misfits and the hard headed woman, Aurora (Rorie), who loved and watched over them. The secondary characters were as well drawn as the primary ones. What I especially liked about this book, was that it reminded me, that most people are never all good or all bad. Mind you, I said most people. Read the book, and find out what I mean for yourself. You're in for a treat.

So many blatant mistakes. But I liked the storyline and the characters. Absolutely HATED the ridiculous and completely unnecessary sex scenes. They also ruined the story,

This was a wonderful historical western romance. This was my first read from author Adrienne deWolfe and I’m soooo glad I was introduced to her in a recent blog hop. I really love historical western romance and I have found a shining star in that genre! The story flowed seamlessly so that I had to read it from start to finish in two late-night sittings. There was delicious romance with just the right amount of angst and frustration, push and pull from the hero (Wes) and the heroine (Rorie). There was a bully or two that made for some exciting action, and there were surprises galore. And let’s not forget the heartwarming family of runaway and throwaway children that were an emotional glue in the story, oh my! Yes indeed, this was a lovely, lovely story and now I can’t wait to read the rest of this author’s books. Thank you, Adrienne!
