Meet the Author

A letter to Rod Stewart resulting in a Cinderella birthday for her daughter sowed the seeds of USAToday and Amazon Kindle bestselling author Jean Brashear's writing career. A lifelong avid reader, at the age of forty-five with no experience and no training, she decided to see if she could write a book. It was a wild leap that turned her whole life upside down, but she would tell you that though she's never been more terrified, she's never felt more exhilarated or more alive. She's an ardent proponent of not putting off your dreams until that elusive 'someday'—take that leap now.More than thirty books later, the five-time RITA finalist and Romantic Times BOOKReviews Career Achievement Award winner has accumulated a whole passel of war stories to swap and loves nothing better than talking writing and books with readers and fellow writers. And she'd still take that leap, war wounds and all.

    Ok but totally predictable

No surprizes, very steamy sex, this plot has been used to death. Chick lit to the max. Adult readers, because of the very descriptive sex. About 400 pages. No actual conclusion. Have to purchase next book at $3.99 to find out happens.

Don't buy the book if you have bought the .99 cent boxed set - this book is one of the five in the boxed set. A very gpod Texas romance.

It was OK. A Texas style loves wins over at the end type. There are 2 more to follow. JS

    A Little  Long...................................................................................
The story of Boone and Maddie probably could have been told in about 250 pages.  But unfortunately  It's 400 pages. There was a lot of repetition.  If they talked about  his dead  wife hating Texas or her ex trying to change her one more time my eyes were going to cross.  Plus this couple had a lack of communication developed to an art form.  But they were a cute couple and it was a nice lite read.  Just a little dragged out.

SWEET AND SASSY!! There is only one love scene, yes it is somewhat descriptive, but certainly not like other Romance Novels that are filled with sex about every other page. I thought the description was beautifully written, and left me feeling like you knew what they felt not only physically, but emotionally. This isn't a story about danger, intrigue, no just a Romance between two people, who fought it, maybe sometimes to much so at times. It has an Epilogue, but not that far into the future. I felt a connection to both the H/h right away. It does leave some questions unanswered about other relatives, but as far as the relationship of our couple, that is settled. (ljb)

I really enjoyed this read. The way it was written you could actually feel the characters emotions. There were struggles, but you found it refreshing. A nice love story.

    Good read!

Took awhile to get into it. Not enough dialogue. Hard to get the feel of the characters. It got better half way through the book.

    Great romance

The characters are quickly established to give you an understanding that both of them are just as stubborn as the other. But can a big city girl make it on a small Texas ranch? Maddie and Boone have both faced heartache and refuse to let another relationship get in the way of their happiness again. What neither expect is the compelling attraction they feel. They also have the mystery of solving her families mysterious history, through the help of a private investigator, and overcoming the lies and hurt passed down to them from their fathers.
