    Chapter Six-
I ponder Hunt's words for only a moment. Another trainer, Sox, pads over to us. The brown shecat's white legs and paws earned her her name. "Hunt, I' d like you to take Blade and Gunner to check near the Ruins. Got it?" She mews.
"Sure. No problem, Sox." Hunt answers.
    "Can Rayn come?" I ask.
"Sure. The more the better. Take anyone else you want, Hunt." Sox waves her brown tail and pads off, probably to gather some cats and go on a recruiting expedition.
Hunt looks around. "Gunner!" He calls.
The white tom with black tabby stripes looks up from his rat meal. "Yeah?"
"You, Rayn, and Tiger are coming to check around the Ruins. To hunt, look for recruits, whatever. Sox wants a patrol there."
    Gunner frowns. "How come?"
Hunt's green eyes glitter. "I don't know. She didn't say."
    Gunner shrugs and joins us.
"Blade, go find Rayn and Tiger." Hunt meows. I nod and trot off.
I see Rayn curled up in a fallen, empty trash can, sheltered from the storm. I poke her, and the long-haired blue-gray tabby looks up. Her round blue eyes are scared and drowsy.
    "Y-yes?" She asks.
"Me, you, Tiger, Gunner, and Hunt are going on a patrol to the Ruins to... I don't really know. Patrol." I reply.
"Oh. I thought I was in trouble..." She mumbles, standing. I don't ask why she would think that. Even though she's the last cat I'd expect to be in trouble, anyone can do something wrong in this place. It's not hard.
We find Tiger poking through some trash for food. I explain about the patrol and lead them both back to Hunt and Gunner.
"Let's go." Hunt meows. We pad down the empty street. A howling, eerie wind blows through the abandoned city, and every sound makes me jump. I'm not used to walking on a street without being constantly looking for vehicles.
"It's so creepy..." Tiger murmurs. The dark tabby's gold eyes dart back and forth, like he's expecting an ambush. Gunner's ears are flat and his tail lashes. Rayn's muscles are tight, like she's ready to bolt. I keep my head low, my shoulders protecting my throat. The only one unaffected by the towering buildings and dangerous surroundings is Hunt. His green eyes are narrowed, but he's otherwise relaxed.
"Doesn't Gorge's group live here?" Rayn squeaks fearfully. She's trembling vigorously.
"No. Past the Ruins. That's the deal him and Nyx made." Hunt tells her. Nyx, a thin dark ginger shecat, is the lead trainer. She is the "top dog," so to speak.
"They could take desperate measures. Their group is much smaller." Tiger mews.
"Numbers isn't always a good thing. We're so large we live all over. How do we know who's loyal?" Hunt reasons.
    We finally reach them.
    The Ruins.
