San Marcos Record - Tiffany Synder
The way Blevins is so attracted to the towns makes it seem almost as if they were named just for him to research. And the result is a page-turning, share-with-your-friends book that shouldn't leave your car. You'd better buy a copy for the house too!

I planned to buy several of these to keep one in every family vehicle... As we travel thru Texas, we love to look up the history of the towns on our path, or occasionally a town will come up in conversation. The other book like this that I own is old and very incomplete, so I was excited to get a new improved book!
There is one MAJOR problem: It's impossible to locate a town in the book! The author has divided town names by genre, such as Plants, Animals, First Names, Popular Names, etc. -- but there is NO INDEX in the back of the book! After trying to find several town names by searching thru the various chapters, not knowing whether that particular town is not included in the book or if we're just unable to locate it, we gave up.
Great idea. Not great for actual use.
