Audience: It is intended for practicing cardiologists or cardiologists in training interested in interventional cardiology.
Features: The book is divided into well-indexed and easy-to-find sections and chapters that describe the principles of interventional cardiology, including advanced innovative techniques such as stroke interventions, percutaneous closure of patent foramen ovale, and transcatheter aortic valve implantation. Sections are divided into patient selection, pharmacology, coronary intervention, peripheral intervention, intracardiac intervention, evaluation of techniques, and outcomes. Each chapter is well written by leading experts in the field and is preceded by a table of key points to orient readers. Ample illustrations and tables clearly convey important points and concepts. All information is well supported by a robust number of references that include many of the seminal clinical trials in cardiology and interventional cardiology.
