Editorial Reviews

From The Critics
Reviewer: Surya M Artham, MD, MPH (Ochsner Clinic Foundation)
Description: This book encompasses all areas of interventional cardiology, covering coronary artery disease, structural heart disease, valvular heart disease, and non-coronary vascular interventions.
Purpose: It is intended to update the 2003 edition with the current state of interventional cardiology.
Audience: This is a reference source for those interested in catheter-based therapy of cardiovascular diseases, including physicians in training and those in clinical practice.
Features: The book covers all aspects of interventional cardiology from both simple complex coronary interventions to non-coronary interventions such as percutaneous aortic valve replacement, left-atrial appendage, and patent foramen-ovale closure, as well as acute stroke and mesenteric and renal vascular interventions.
Assessment: This is an excellent update of a highly successful book. It is very informative, easy to read, easy to understand, with good evidence-based discussion of cardiac disease processes and diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. The colorful images, excellent references, and easy to understand tables and graphs are all a plus for this valuable book.
From the Publisher
Review of the Last Edition

"It is beautifully produced and illustrated, and comprehensively covers all aspects of the subject." - Heart, Lung and Circulation

Eric D. Grassman
This is the third edition of a classic book by one of the world's leaders in interventional cardiology. The purpose is to present evidence-based data on the indications, technology, and expectations of modern interventional cardiology. It is intended for interventional cardiologists and interventional cardiology fellows. It covers basic science, techniques, clinical indications, medical-legal aspects, and financial issues. Overall, this is an excellent review. In such a rapidly changing field, a fourth edition will be needed in the near future.
