In this slender volume Bruce Metzger provides assistance in making critical judgments on textual questions. Every verse where UBS4 provides a critical apparatus of the text (as well as other verses Metzger wanted to expound on) is covered in this book, with Metzger explaining how and why members of the Editorial Committee of the United Bible Societies' Greek New Testament reached their decision. Each reading is also graded on a scale ranging from 'A' to 'D' signifying the committee's level of certainty regarding the reading chosen for a given verse. Explantions are usually clear and brief, often taking up no more than 7-8 lines.
