Bear and his friends will charm little ones in this new format.

Early one morning, a little bear found a little box.

So begins this simple but extremely satisfying picture book, winner of the Charlotte Zolotow award. Now in board book format for little hands, Thank You Bear is a wonderful mystery of a story that asks a question that even the youngest of children will enjoy guessing the answer to--what is in Bear's box?

From red fox to gray elephant, colorful animals tell Bear what they think is inside. But it's not until the very last page, that all is revealed and in the very sweetest way.

I love this book!  I work with children and am an on-call babysitter and nanny and wherever I go, I always take "Thank You Bear" with me! If I don't bring it, kids ask me where it is.  The graphics are so beautiful and simple yet there is so much for the child to take in as they gaze upon each page. I always give a unique voice to each animal and pause for a quiet moment before I change each page, watching the wheels turning in the child's head. I have not met a child that didn't love having this book read to them again and again.

A cute story about the importance of giving and what really matters about a gift, no matter what others say.

I picked this book up in the store, just to kill time, and I'm so glad I did. This is a must have for the children you love. I believe they will ask to have it read over and over, and you will be glad to read it for them. The author has definitely touched on 'real-life' here. He connects to the child in you. We all experience discouraging people, we did as children and we do now. Great lessons on how you treat others can be drawn from this very simple story. I was impressed with the authors ability to come across in such a big way, and yet he kept it on a child's level. Bravo!
