Thank you God for Blessing Me – Max Lucado

An inspiringly beautifully illustrated poem book for little ones, reminding us how God really does bless us – Jesus said that unless we become like little children, we would not enter the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 18:3). This little book (mine was an E book) really just reminds us that the very things that we take for granted are the things we can be super grateful for. Hermie (the little cattepillar) thinks on all the things that God blesses his life with and he is grateful. The kind of innocent gratitude that Jesus wants from us (I believe).
Teaching our children to be grateful for these things in this world fueled by “want more, have more” mindset is of the utmost importance.
My E Book only had 4 pages of prose but it really delivered it’s message in a clear to the point way. Beautiful. Max Lucado putting his gifts to work. Well done.

    Too Short

A sweet book for my 5 year old. BUT, I expected it to be a little bit longer as it was only 4 pages.

I particularly loved this book + would recommend for every mum with toddlers to grab a copy for their little ones. It teaches little children to be thankful + grateful for the many blessings, no matter how small or big they may be, that we received from God on a daily basis. With a simple yet beautiful story + a very beautiful illustration, too, I bet all your little ones will love Little Hermie, too!

I give this book 5 dog ears {the highest rating this mum gives to a book! ;)

Talk about sweetness! You can't get much sweeter than Max Lucado

Talk about sweetness! You can't get much sweeter than Max Lucado's Thank you, God, for blessing me in which baby caterpillar Hermie shows toddlers how to be thankful for God's blessings with his own thankful heart.

My boys, who are three years old, loved this book. They loved the pictures, illustrated by Frank Endersby. They loved the story. And they were eager to read it again. (Always a good sign!)

And while my eight month old daughter isn't able to sit for a reading yet, the pages are sturdy enough to handle even her playful hands (and mouth!)

This is also a Read 2 Me book, which means that in the next two years, my boys will be able to start reading it to me. The words are small. The sentences short. And even better, it is a story that I won't mind reading over and over again ... or having to listen to over and over again. It's short, sweet, and touching; it teachers a lesson while captivating in a peaceful way.

I definitely think I will be ordering more copies of this book to give as a gift to new parents!

The publisher has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book or advanced reading copy through BookSneeze®.

Thank You, God, for Blessing Me by Max Lucado is an adorable, little hardbound book that is great for small children. Little Hermie is a caterpillar who knows how to appreciate everything around him. He thanks God every day for his many blessings like family, food, home and friends.
This book is a great way to teach children about prayer and being thankful for everything that surrounds him. I love that it teaches children to watch what is just naturally there and not to look for other material things. As the parent reads this aloud to the child, the parents will also be reminded to be grateful for things that they have.

    Thank You God

This book by Max Lucado is a great little children's book about thanking God for everything we have. We sometimes watched Hermie the cute little caterpillar and his friends on T.V. The kids 3 and 7 loves it.

I give this a 4 star because it is too short. Even the 3 year old wants more.

In this book, Hermie thank God for his friends, food and everyhing that God has given him.

I got this book free from Booksneeze in exchange for an honest review.

A simple children book is a good start to introduce kids to God

This simple children book is a good start to introduce kids to God, and a good one to introduce the concept of praying a prayer of thanksgiving for everything that God has blessed us with.

Amply illustrated although the pictures in the e-book (e-pub) edition are probably not as colorful and attractive as the printed ones.

    Must Have for Toddlers!

Today I am reviewing, "Thank You, God, for Blessing Me" which is part of the new Little Hermie series by Max Lucado. Little Hermie is the toddler version of the beloved caterpillar Hermie for kids. This short book is designed to show toddlers how to be thankful for the blessings that God gives. Little Hermie goes about his day thanking God for everything and everyone around him.

It has been a pleasure reading this book with my toddler. This book carries such a positive message and way of thinking that I love to instill in my daughter. With it's adorable illustrations and wonderful rhymes it is sure to please both the children and the parents reading them this heartwarming book. It also serves as a great reminder for parents that we should be thankful for each and everything around us. When we have a positive way of thinking and living, we model that for our children. This one is definitely a new family favorite!

Disclousure: I was provided with a free copy of this book for purpose of review. No other compensation received. These are my honest opinions on this product.

Great Hermie book for the younger crowd

This sweet little book is perfect for the younger crowd. It's a very short book that flows well and teaches that we can and should thank God for everything that we have, from things we touch like our food to things about ourselves like our feet. He thanks God for his friends and asks God to help him be thankful as a way to give thanks.

The illustrations were detailed and descriptive. The words were simple enough but not overly simplified. I liked the prayer and the pattern that it had, a good pattern to teach our children: to be thankful for all we have and can do, for all God has made for us, and asking for help to be thankful and obey.

The only thing I wish is that it was longer! I guess I'll have to wait for another "Little Hermie" book...

I received a copy of this book from Thomas Nelson publishing in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

Adorable, and Great Message of Thankfulness

"Thank You God For Blessing Me" by Max Lucado is an adorable children's book. What I really liked about this book is that it is short, and has great illustrations. It is perfect for a small child who doesn't have the attention span to sit through a long book. The story rhymes, which helps the child remember the words on their own. I have a toddler, and she loved the cute little Hermie - the green caterpillar in the story. This book helps teach kids that everything that they have is because God has blessed them, and they should be thankful. It's a great book that can help teach a very important lesson. Loved it - wouldn't hesitate to purchase it.

    Short and Sweet

This is a VERY short children's book, but it's very sweet. It includes colorful, enjoyable pictures. Hermie thanks God for lots of things like nature, a place to sleep, health, friends and family, but you'll be thankful for the beautiful illustrations and the lessons this book will teach your young one. It encourages children to pray for guidance in doing the right thing and to thank God for the blessings in their lives. It's definitely meant for pre-school and younger, but it's adorable. I just wish it were longer.

    Reminder on being thankful

I spied this Max Lucado book and I have enjoyed every book that he has written. My girls love books so I selected this one because I thought it would be a good one to have on hand when we're on the go.

From the Publisher: Meet Little Hermie-the cutest baby caterpillar in the garden! Little Hermie's thankful heart shows toddlers how to be thankful for God's blessings.

Little Hermie is thankful for everything God has given him. He goes through his day thanking God for his many blessings in this adorable board book with flocking on the cover!
With over 5.5 million brands units sold, the new Little Hermie books open the wonderful world of the Hermie & Friends garden to an entirely new audience.

I was a little disappointed in it. It was a great prayer with cute pictures. But...it was only five pages long. Not what I was expecting. I was expecting something a little meatier for the purpose I was intending it for. This would be a perfect book to read to infant through 3, in my opinion. My girls are all older than that so I'm not sure how often we'll be pulling this one out. Except when we need some divine intervention and a prayer that mommy doesn't have to think up at the stressed moment.

    Another Hermie Board Book

Max Lucado has written another book starring Hermie the caterpillar and his friends. This board book, Thank You, God, for Blessing Me is targeted to the youngest readers. Hermie shares how many things in his daily life are blessings from God.

I find this "young" version of Hermie to be absolutely adorable. So far we have read several of the Hermie books, and find that they have the same quality messages throughout.

This book delivers an important message to young ones, how many things there are to be thankful for...family, friends, and such.

(I got this book for free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.)

    Worth reading once

I'd never been introduced to Hermie the Caterpillar and his menagerie of animal friends before.

Max Lucado has created a simple story for Hermie's world, one that my six-year-old daughter enjoyed.

It has the feel of a Richard Scarry story from the 1980s, but we read it together on my iPhone.

One tip: read it in landscape, not portrait orientation. The pictures were too small and the text was broken up awkwardly until I turned my phone sideways.

The story was worth a one-time read, but I don't believe it's something we'll look at again. I'd suggest borrowing a copy from your local library or sharing it with a few of your friends.

Disclaimer: I was given a free e-copy of this book by the publisher in exchange for this unbiased review.

    Cute

I thought this was a very cute book. My 4 year old loved it! It's a story about Hermie, the Caterpillar, and he praying to thank god for all the things he has blessed him with. For a place to sleep, food to eat, friends and family. I think this is a good book for children.

Cute and rhyming way to learn to thank God

This is an adorable christian book for toddlers (my guess is one to four, but I only have a three year old), with an important message--thanking God should be part of everything we do.

I liked how it gave examples of what we can and should thank Him for: food, eyes to see, friends and family, and even things that are hard for children like being kind and obeying. The story is a great introduction to Hermie, who I have seen books and movies for. The rhymes make it easier for me to read, and I think more pleasurable for my little girl to hear.

The illustrations are cute and detailed, with carry over from one picture to another. There are ladybugs and grapes in the first, and then they are on each consecutive page. I like the calm coloring for the majority of the page, and then how it's contrasted with nice bright colors for the flowers or grapes.

My daughter asked to hear it again, and it's a book that I wouldn't mind reading two or three times in a day, which I can't say for all of the books in the house or that we get from the library.

I think the length is about perfect, although I wouldn't mind another couple of pages.

I received this book for free from BookSneeze, but it did not affect my opinion or review.

    Very cute!

Max Lucado's childrens books are just the right amount of story, morals, color, and value that one could fit between two pieces of cardboard. His books are not only inspirational to my 3 year old daughter, but also to my husband and I! The minute my daughter saw this book she quickly snatched it up and began to "read" it. The look on her face was priceless.

Thank You, God, for Blessing Me

Hi! I've recently ordered a book from booksneeze, and it's as cute as a bug (pardon the pun!) Before I get started, however, I have to say that I received this book for free from the booksneeze blogging program and I am under no legal obligation to give this book a positive review. Anything I say is honestly and completely my own opinion. Now, I got "Thank you, God, for blessing me" by Max Lucado recently and it is adorable. It's only a few pages long (it IS a board book, after all!), but the pictures are sweetly drawn and innocent, and as our little chunky caterpillar thinks about his life, he remembers to thank God for everything he has. I ordered this, actually, as a Christmas present for a little guy that is in my life, and I really think that he'll enjoy it. I think that this would be a good book for anyone who is in the 2-3 year old range, but it could even work up into the 4-5 year old range. I mean, they're cute pictures with TONS of details that would keep any kid occupied for a while. All in all, four out of five stars. ?
