I purchased this album almost 30 years ago. I enjoyed it then, as I also read a biography of Lenny Bruce. You can tell how every comedian since Bruce utiized the narrative, and satire. I think that this (being an early album) would have been to comedy what Dylan's, first albums had been to music. Listen and learn.

The '50s are often portrayed as a very innocent time -- an era in which Father Knows Best and Leave It to Beaver were popular sitcoms. Americans were less likely to have sex before marriage, poodle skirts were in fashion, and stay-at-home moms were the norm.
