Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Lisette Baez
An excellent resource for educators and parents as everyday household items are turned into exciting Thanksgiving crafts. Kids can turn a cup into a treat-filled turkey, a newspaper can be transformed into a pilgrim hat, and see how a paper plate can quickly become a turkey tambourine. The book opens with a brief story about Thanksgiving and then provides tips, a glossary, and an illustrated list of tools needed for the projects. Each project offers a brief description and a history, which creates a fun and educational activity. Children can create a fall wreath, a turkey pop-up card, or even a seed mosaic. Learn how to weave with construction paper or shuck an ear of corn. These crafts will surely motivate your students about Thanksgiving or turn an ordinary Saturday afternoon with your children into a wonderful Thanksgiving memory. At the back of the book, you will find additional resources such as books and Internet sites related to Thanksgiving. Reviewer: Lisette Baez
