Overview

It is no exaggeration to say that Margaret Thatcher remade Britain in her own image. She deregulated industry, brought the unions to their knees, privatized state-owned enterprises, waged war to defend the Falkland Islands, and teamed up with Ronald Reagan to win the Cold War. Her courage was remarkable and her character larger than life. She was a woman who brooked no fools, and her tongue could be rapier sharp. Here is the inspiring story of Britain's first and only woman prime minister.

Margaret Thatcher, A Life is a very well written book. The authors take us on a journey of understanding of Britain's first lady prime minister. The information on her childhood is fascinating. The tales of her rise to power are inspiring. And what she did with that power is amazing. She forever changed the world of politics.

Margaret Thatcher remade England in her own image. But what made this powerful woman tick. That's the focus of this book - starting with her childhood and taking us up to near the end of her life. An excellent book.
