This is one of the most entertaining 'history' books I've ever read. No political spin-doctors...just stories of the way things really happened. Our wonderful country's history, warts and all. Thomas Ayres is more than a good writer...he's a great storyteller. The interesting short stories make this a nice 'bedtime' book. Congratulations, Mr. Ayres! You've written a winner!

This writer does what none I have read so far -- makes you feel like it's happening now! These little known facts are so great and so new, it's like it's just happening around us. Fresh, vivacious writer - real insight into what's really interesting - and TRUE! Looking forward to his future editions.

This book is a wonderful delight to read. I bet you thought the Wright brothers were the first to fly a plane.......they weren't. And you thought the Pocohantas movie was what really happened? Think again! Independence day on July 4th? Nope! This book is definitly a perfect gift for every history teacher, as well as anybody! I highly recomend it for all ages.
