The author was born and educated in England and came to the United States in 1982. Since then he has opened bank accounts, bought property, insured cars and homes, invested in stocks, obtained credit cards and struggled with the tax code. Those experiences convinced him there was a need for a convenient and manageable reference source that would explain the basic terminology used in these processes; the result is this book. Mr. Woan is a corporate insurance executive and lives in Chicago with his wife and two children.
