This book was definitely eye opening. Can't say it's anything I really "didn't know" already, but it was backed up with substantial research that did make sense and make me question my own behavior. Definitely worth a read for all my single ladies out there.
give this to every woman/girl you know! fingers crossed this will be common knowlege for the next generation:)
I am empowered as a woman to trust my instincts--what I truly know deep down--about my heart (and biological!) desires to attach and be with a lifelong love, and to nurture children. This book provides the best strategies I have ever read on how a modern woman can strategically acquire what she truly wants in life.
Oh if only letting go were as easy as when you fall in love! You start to crave the emotions associated with the relationship even if it is below the standards you deserve. Great advice that is practical and doable. A method that helps you heal and renew your faith in love relationships.
An enlightening and empowering read, perfect for single and coupled ladies alike. This book takes us through the ever-changing dating scene, the hook-up culture being the most prevalent trend. It sheds a different light on this kind of dating culture —that while it gives us ladies the same sense of freedom that men have, it has its disadvantages, which we often overlook. Dr. Walsh takes us through the flip side of the hook-up culture, and tips on how to deal. It also allows us to get to know ourselves better —to identify what our relationship goals are. Are we in this for the long haul or are we just looking for a short-lived romance? Are we using short-term tactics and expecting long-term results? Also, what kind of man should we be looking out for, given our relationship goals? Most importantly, Dr. Wendy Walsh helps us realise the power that we have as women, which we often forget. That power, which we’ve always had tracing back to the hunter-gatherer days. What sets this book apart from your typical relationship self-help is that almost everything in this book is practical and backed-up by research and anthropological data. It’s not a how-to book, it’s a snapshot of the reality we are faced with, as far as dating is concerned, and how we should be dealing based on our relationship goals. Don’t be turned-off by research or data though, Dr. Walsh will not bore you to tears. Her language is light, witty, and concise. Just a bit of caution though, when I purchased this book, I thought it was a step-by-step 30-day love detox. It’s not. There’s a very good reason why this book is entitled “The 30-day Love Detox” and you’ll have to read to find out why.
