Doody's Review ServiceReviewer: Benjamin A Goldberg, M.D.(University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine)
Description: This is a PDA-based reference with short descriptions of common musculoskeletal conditions.
Purpose: The product provides basic descriptions of common orthopedic conditions in an easy to use, easy to reference PDA program.
Audience: This is for junior orthopedist residents to carry as a limited reference. Attendings also may find its ICD-9 database useful and it could also be good for primary care MDs.
Features: The book has common diagnoses and musculoskeletal conditions that are subdivided and organized into basics, diagnosis, management, anatomy, and physical examination. Diagnoses are cross-referenced to the ICD-9 as well.
Assessment: This is a handy, portable basic orthopedic reference for a PDA. It is unique but somewhat basic. It is excellent for a primary care physician or an orthopedic intern.
