Meet the Author

John Friel, Ph.D., earned his B.A. in psychology from the University of San Francisco and his Ph.D. from West Virginia University. He is the coauthor of several bestselling self-help books, including The 7 Worst Things Good Parents Do; Rescuing Your Spirit; Adult Children: The Secrets of Dysfunctional Families; An Adult Child’s Guide to What’s Normal; The Grown-up Man; and The Soul of Adulthood. He is also an internationally recognized speaker and trainer.

Linda Friel, M.A., is an internationally acclaimed author, speaker, and full-time counselor who maintains a psychology practice with her husband in which she counsels individuals, families, and couples, and leads therapy groups. Along with her husband, Linda runs the Clearlife/Lifeworks Clinic, a three-day cleansing program that teaches the elimination of harmful patterns and ways of life, where she serves as cofounder and national director.
