This piece of literature is 98% the words of H.G. Wells and the 9/11 Commission. The two works have been mashed up into this new fictional version of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. The story is inspired by the idea that the events of that day were driven by an alien invasion from Mars. This story attempts to merge the emotionally written first-person accounts of a Martian invasion with the disaster detailed so well in the 9/11 Commission Report, which has won rave literary reviews, but, in the end, is a government report that lacks a certain emotional element. The true story of 9/11 is best told with the emotions that victims, survivors, and, indeed, all Americans experienced that day.
