Editorial Reviews

VOYA
In another week in the life of poor seventeen-year-old Anna Percy, even fabulous wealth and goddess-like good looks cannot alleviate family instability or answer questions of personal ethics. Fans of the A-List series know that Anna moved from New York City to the Los Angeles area to live with her father during her last semester of high school. Since the move (about six weeks and four books ago), Anna has become familiar with Cammie, Sam, Bee, Ben, Adam, and their parents-ready for sets of The OC and for the power brokers behind the scenes. In this volume, Anna flies to Mexico to check out a posh resort that her father is considering purchasing. She also plans to check out "hooking up"-sex with strangers, friends with benefits, etc. Following surfing, skinny-dipping, and shopping, the trip turns scary when Anna and Sam get lost in the Mexican desert. Sam is Dean's most interesting character: self-doubting, undervalued, and working to come to terms with a body apparently not destined for a runway-despite fashion investment. In novels bedecked with physical perfection, Target put-downs, and soaring egos, Sam seems almost real. Dean's escapist beach-blanket-lit serves up humor (Dee worries about her missing friends while contemplating what she might wear to their funerals), ethical situations (to consider loosely), hearty helpings of the f-word, and reassurance that wealth does not buy loving parents or self-confidence. The Tall Cool One by Zoey Dean

For a school project I decided to read The tall Cool One, which is the fourth book in the A-List series by Zoey Dean. This book highlights the rollercoasters of teenage years. With a bit of a twist though, these are not your average girls. They are the daughters of wealthy actors and agents living in LA. When two of the main charatcers decide to get away from the boy, friends, and family drama they embark together on a journey on a journey to "Paridise" in Mexico. But as we all all know too well, trouble is only to follow. because of some of the content n this book, I would recommend it mostly from middle to high school students . It was a pretty quick read but definitely worth it.

    the best A-LIST yet!

wow, this book is pretty speechless. well first i started and then i kinda put the book down and then never picked it up again, bad mistake. because when i got back to reading it my hands were glued to it. in this book of the series it is filled with sex, drama, lies, and vacations. las casitas mexico, the details in this book make you feel like your the character like anna, cammie, or sam. i reccomend the alist! its a definite +. for ages 13 and up. but not too old because its a little teenish for parents.

    Great!

After reading the first three, TCO had more adventure, and the girls are growing up and becoming more mature. Enjoyed the Las Casitas portion most. I will continue to read the series!!!

I read this book in 3 days...I really enjoyed it. Even though it is a series, I started with this book. It is also really discriptive and you can put yourself in the main character's shoes.

    Garbage

When the 'f' word is used, it is usually for shock value and lack of verbal sophistication. This word was on nearly every page. Given that, the series is morally corrupt - soft porn for the minds of the young girls who read it. I hope the young girls who read the series do not try to emulate the pathetic and shallow characters presented within the pages.

Absolutely horrid. The characters were shallow and materialistic, and there was hardly any kind of plot or anything I would call a 'climax' in the story, if you could call it a story. This was, by far, the worst book I've ever read.

Tall Cool One-a definate MUST READ!

Anna Percy is not your ordinary Hollywood diva. She used to live in the Upper East Side of New York and has that classy, chic style. She moved to Beverly Hills to live with her father, and now has to go to school with the three girls she hates: Delia Young, Cammie Sheppard and Samantha Sharpe. They are the ultimate boy-magnets: tall, gorgeous, smart, funny and audacious. But when it comes to liking boys they can be very catty. Anna doesn't know if she can handle it. Is she suited for this lifestyle? Hollywood glam, fame and wealth? Although Anna considers Cammie and Dee her worst enemies, she has taked a liking to Sam. She can be very low-key relaxed and fun. Anna's dad offers to send her to Mexico for a little well-deserved vacation. She decides to take him up on that offer and soon finds herself in a warm exotic, sweet place. To her surprise Sam ends up threre too. They end up drinking too much and stumble into the desert. It starts to get dark and they are completely lost! They walk for a while and encounter a beautiful white house in the middle of nowhere. Without any shelter, they break in and no one is home. They quickly find warm clothes to put on and are so tired they fall asleep upstairs. A little while later they awake to find themselves in the presence of two men holding them at gunpoint. They only speak Spanish so Anna has to translate. Apparently they want to kidnap them and take them to their boss. Back at the resort two guys wait for them to go on dates. They never show so they call Sam's dad and the police. But...what happens next?? I would definately reccommend this book to all readers. It is enjoyable with humor and heartache. It was very in depth and it had a good plot line that was easy to follow. In my opinion this book deserves four stars. I thought it was absolutely wonderful. It was a really great book! A quote from the book, or all the books is 'If you have to ask, you'll never be on the A-List.' Extremely nice read!

    Tall Cool One

'Tall Cool One' was another great A-List novel like all the rest Zoey Dean wrote. Anna once again had some crazy adventures in which she definitely lived life to the fullest. I think that this book was great, and everyone should read the A-List Series. I can't wait to read the next book in the series to see what problems Anna, Sam, Adam, Dee, and Cammie go through.
