    Missing the beginner's paradigm

    This book is like a really long interview with a very successful property manager. The problem is that the expert here, Ken McElroy, doesnt communicate from the beginner mindframe which the 'ABC's' of the title may imply. Rather he communicates from the superior expert view. So as good as it is to interview an expert, it doesnt allow a lot of room for real empowering growth.

    THE DONWNSIDE -
    I know a lot about real estate, I dont know a lot about property management (yet). I was hoping to read a book that would explain the obstacles of a new buy and hold investor and would give insight on business systems to break through the struggles a first time property manager has, And how as their portfolio of real estate grows what insights there are to that as well. My experience of this book was NOT EMPOWERING AT ALL. Really the opposite. This book scares you, and does NOT give insight on how to manage your first through your 50th properties. It is more of a huge sales pitch to hire a out a property manager. If I wanted to hire a property manager, I wouldnt need the book.

    THE UPSIDE -
    Although I didnt find what i was looking for, i did still gain insight into the vast responsibilities of property management. I have a clearer picture of the big picture, not the ABC's in my opinion.
