in response to a previous review, i have to say i've found errors in almost every big movie book -- leonard maltin, the oscar handbook, the mighty robert osborne book simply leaves out a lot of fun, gossipy stuff--sure, there's a few mistakes here, hardly worth tossing the authors into prison over, especially considering that it's unusually well written for this sort of thing. it actually has a point of view and a sense of humor. and as the other reviewer admitted, the pictures are great. the vehemence of his criticism makes me wonder if he might have a competing book out there.

This book is so chock-full of mistakes and errors that it is a complete waste of time and money. I am not talking about typos. I am talking about misidentified stars (Rita Moreno identified as Chita Rivera) and false information (Clark Gable won Best Actor for GWTW (wrong) and Katharine Hepburn won 8 Oscars (wrong!)) What is fascinating about this book is that it must have been thrown together in about an hour by two people who apparently worked on Mars as Farmers for the past 75 years. The information in this book is completely unreliable - making it useless as a reference. Pictures are pretty, but that's about it. WHO WROTE THIS DISASTER???
