Defender of the Light

He is Sir Adam Sinclair: nobleman, physician, scholar–and an Adept. A man of great learning and power, he practices arcane ancient arts unknown to the modern world.

He has had many names and has lived many lives, but his mission remains the same: to protect the Light of the world from those metaphysical criminals who prowl the Dark Road.

Now his beloved Scotland is defiled by a ruthless cult of black magicians who will commit any atrocity, from murder both physicical and spiritual to enslaving the dead, to achieve their evil ends.

Only one man can stand against them . . .

    Excellent

I noticed that previous entries complained about typos and other proof reading errors. Yes I noticed them. No it did not keep me from thoroughly enjoying the story. In fact I became immune to the errors and hardly noticed them because I became so immersed in the story and characters. I read 10 books or more weekly. I read occult, paranormal, fantasy and urban fantasy exclusively. This is a great story with occult suspense without romance, sparkles or relationship angst that can totally ruin a good novel. While I would have a much greater selection to choose from if I would read stories that had this usual crap in them, I can never finish them because I get so frustrated with the romantic drivel that ruins the probably otherwise good story. If you are like me and don't like the nonsense, this will be a perfect story for you. I can't wait to read the rest of the series available and hope they continue to write more in this series.

    Good book ruined by typos

I love this series, but was disappointed by the poor quality of this ebook edition. Every chapter has spelling, punctuation, and type-setting errors. It seemed as if the technical work was done by a non-English speaker.

    Good book, atrocious proofreading/editing

I have this book and was pleased to find it as an e-book, but could hardly read it because of the mistakes in it (punctuation strewn randomly throughout the sentences, paragraphs breaking or not breaking improperly, random capitalizations). I recommend the book, but not the e-book.

    Great Book - Poor Copy!

It is great to have this masterpiece in e-book as this is one I enjoy re-reading yearly. The copy is of very poor quality. The cover and starting pages don't line up on screen. So many typos that are not in the original showing a total lack of proof reading or a typist who does not know English. Still, this is a page turner that will leave you wanting the next books in the series.

    more from this reviewer

A very good read for the "occultist" believer.

This is another way to view the interaction of man with powers above and below. Whether you believe in GOD and the devil it is a fun and interesting take on reincarnation and divine intervention.
