I love this book for my 7 year-old daughter. We use it at bed time and she often brings it to me and we talk about something she's wondering about. The kids are going through so much at younger ages now, The devotions guide her to think about what kind of person she wants to be based on God's Word and plan for her life. I wish all the kids had this resource! Great gift if you want to lead a child in spiritual and character development.

I was so happy to find this devotional for my 6 year old and 8 year old until I read some of the content. The first devotion's scenario, which focused on appreciating God's gifts, involved one child calling another child an "idiot." I was shocked. My husband and I do not speak like that to anyone, and we teach our children that speaking that way is hurtful and disrespectful. As a Christian devotional, it should portray children being respectful to one another unless the lesson pertains to the contrary. The second scenario I read involved the dilemma of a 7th grade girl and her "crush" on a 9th grade boy. How on earth does a scenario like this pertain to the real lives of 6-9 year old children? This devotional needs some content revisions so that it better addresses the needs and lives of 6-9 year old kids. After some changes, I would be happy to purchase it, but for now, I put it back on the store shelf.
