    I Also Recommend:

    A Fun Read!

This story in comic book form is a little more complex than previous volumes in the series, but is nevertheless enjoyable. Each of the three segments includes interesting scenery, plots, and characters, some of which are newly introduced and others have been met in previous volumes. The first segment focuses on the popular singer Bianca Castafiore's missing emerald, as well as her visit with Tintin and his friend Captain Haddock. The second segment involves Tintin and several of his companions who have boarded a hijacked airplane with the industrial millionaire Laszlo Carreidas. The later plot includes meeting their strangely familiar kidnappers as well as becoming involved with some extra-terrestrial occurrences. The third and final segment places the reader back with General Alcazar along Tintin and friends as they attempt to secure the General's position as the leader of the South American country San Theodoros. All in all the entire collection is an amusing and engaging read, so I would highly recommend the entire series to all those considering trying it out.
