Overview

No red suit. No spiked tail. No pitchfork. Satan is real. And you are his target. You are in the midst of raging battle. The enemy is scheming and crafty. He prowls around like a lion, looking to devour you. This battle will not go away. You can't escape it and you can't ignore it. You must learn to fight. The Bible tells us that our war is not against human enemies, but against Satan's highly organized kingdom. And while Satan and his invisible warriors have extensive experience in waging war, they will never win. God has already claimed our victory. Here is a practical handbook that will help you aggressively claim your triumph over the enemy by relying on the almighty and powerful Word of God. Bubeck answers such questions as:
  • What is Satan's strategy in warfare?
  • Can a Christian be oppressed by demons?
  • Can demonic affliction be passed down through family lines?
  • What are the symptoms of demonic activity in a person's life?"

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

This book is being rereleased in 2013 and I received an advance copy from NetGalley for review. This book explains the basics of spiritual warfare and also serves as a practical guide. There are prayers at the end of the chapters designed to lead a person in prayer - not to be some kind of secret formula. The book is theologically conservative and cites well-known and respected leaders in the Christian faith (for example, Warren Weirsbe).  Overall, I think this is a great guide for Christians to turn to when they need a fast and practical introduction to spiritual warfare. I recommend it alongside Dr. Ed Murphy's The Handbook for Spiritual Warfare. The world isn't what it seems on the surface and almost no one realizes it. This books helps remove the veil in a Biblical way. 4/5 stars.

Excellent, Balanced Treatment of Spritual Warfare

The Adversary is a very well-balanced book dealing with a topic many Christians shy away from--spiritual warfare against the kingdom of Satan. My wife and I were pleased to see that this book does not delve into the emotional or sensationalist treatments of this topic that are seen in other Christian writings. I thought is was excellent how the author starts off the book by describing the sins of the flesh that all Christians struggle with, which must be distinguished from a genuine attack from demons. Mr. Bubeck provides some first hand examples of how he has driven demons from people, a process that medical science or psychology knows little about. You must be in a serious state of mind when reading this wonderful book, which courageously addresses a subject that many churches neglect to the hurt of their own people.

    Superb Reading

If you want to learn more about how Satan works and the battle we face as we live on this earth, this book is wonderful. You can not fight an enemy that you don't know anything about. This book helps you learn the enemy and his tacktics so you can seek God and his power to overcome Satan's attacks.
