Overview

In another time and place, Damyen, Kiaran, and Liviulé—the inseparable trio that bring along partying and mischief—leave behind their mundane lives and join Elder Emeral, their spiritual advisor, to embark on a fateful journey to the Holy Land. Along the way, Liviulé befriends Allessandra, the emperor’s daughter. As they fall for each other despite a foreboding prophecy and long to be each other’s “Passionate Will,” Damyen is revisited by his troubling past while Kiaran learns about a mysterious ritual to win the hand of the maiden. It is from their own unique experiences that their faith is challenged, ultimately leading them to find their purpose—all through the power of love.

When Emperor Claudias Nuncio receives a dismal vision foretelling grave consequences for mankind, he decides to take desperate measures against political upheaval to protect his kingdom’s people and their faith by attempting to enact a controversial decree. As the emperor’s advisor, Elder Emeral is concerned that Claudias may have been deceived but his mission to help the emperor is not without consequence. Nico Donyan, commander of the emperor’s army, sees Emeral’s voice of reason as a threat to his own agenda. But when his plot to remove Emeral is in peril, he is confronted by someone who can make his desires a reality. If only he accepts a new creed—all through the power of fear.

Meet the Author

My name is Damian Salo and I was born and raised outside Cleveland, Ohio. My father taught me a good work ethic while my mother taught me good morals. After graduating from Bedford High School, I obtained my BA in both Accounting and Finance at Kent State University, and due to the struggling economy, my best friend and I took our chances and settled in Brooklyn, NY. It’s true what they say. NYC is tough. But as an artist it forces you to mature, adapt, and to be creative. With so many people out here striving to do the exact same thing that you want to do, the question is: What will make you stand apart from the rest? Seven years later and after countless re-writes, I believe I have finally accomplished that. I crafted an epic fantasy that combines autobiographical stories of friendship, love, and fate with a touch of world politics, religion, and mysticism. More importantly, I wrote a novel that is true to myself.
