Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Sara Rofofsky Marcus
The laminated and reinforced pages make this book excellent for young children learning to read and also learning the Hebrew alphabet, the aleph-bet. However, the transliteration of the names of the Hebrew letters can cause problems for the novice reader as they are not traditional words or names and can cause problems for the reader of Hebrew as the transliterations do not always match pronunciations used. Similar to Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, the letters of the aleph-bet have an adventure, with letters being introduced one by one alphabetically. This is useful for Jewish children learning the aleph-bet to read alone, while the rhyming nature leads this to be a wonderful read-aloud regardless of knowledge of the Hebrew alphabet. The bright colors and catchy narrative lead the reader on an adventure over land and sea, meeting the letters one by one. Reviewer: Sara Rofofsky Marcus
