This is merely a longer version of an article that is available free online. The last 1/3 of the book is merely an excerpt from the Psychopath Test which is what led me to this in the beginning.

Before I say anything else, you should realize ( as I did not) that only 26 of the 49 pages of this "book" are the titled story, and the rest is an excerpt from another one of Ronson's books, The Psychopath Test (which I had already read). It is also true, as another reviewer stated, that this is a slightly longer version of an article of Ronson's that can be found for free on the Internet.
That being said (and my money already spent), this is a good example of Ronson's style of investigative journalism; something borderlining an autobiographical narrative with a good dose of British humor. He goes on patrol with two rag-tag groups of self-styled superheroes, which reportedly roam the streets of many of America's urban meccas. I have to say, I was surprised to read of one here in DC; I have lived in the area and have been known to frequent the area he purportedly patrols late at night for almost a decade, and I've never even heard of him, much less witnessed him at "work".
It's a cute little story, but you might as well just Google the free version if you want a taste before plunging into one of his *actual* books. I guess if you're considering buying The Psychopath Test (which I very much enjoyed) it might be worth shelling out for this version.

I discovered Jon Ronson on the Daily Show. I had to find out more about "Superheroes."
This is such an interesting story - it's hard to believe that it's real. There really ARE people wearing costumes and 'fighting crime.'
The author approaches this mind-boggling phemomina with a level head and clear mind.

I enjoyed this book. Though the extra thing in the back of the book was boring.
