Stephanie Pearl-McPhee has created another wonderful, humorous book. This time the topic strays from her usual knitterly focus, so those who don't wield two sticks will relate to all the numerous stories of life and how we handle it without referring to our loved ones to explain "purl", references to "frogging" or stashes.... This time we follow along with self-esteem, long distance bicycling rallies, and the benefits of parenting in your underwear, all with her usual flair for storytelling. If readers are looking for hard-core knitting references, stories of projects gone awry and the importance of gauge, start with another of her books. This collection is equally well written, but purposefully not knit-focused.

If laughter is the best medicine, then Stephanie might be in danger of being accused of practicing medicine without a licence. I have laughed so hard reading this book, that my husband came in and asked me if I were OK. I've sent messages to my family & friends urging everybody to read this book. It is truly great medicine for world-weary souls
