The American

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Heather Phares
Angie Arparo's major label debut album The American introduces his earnest, slightly rootsy brand of modern rock. "Green Into Gold," "Hush," "Cry," "Wonderland," and the single "Spaceship" recall the big, heartfelt sounds of REM, Soul Asylum, the Goo Goo Dolls, and especially Live, but Arparo's impressive vocal range and adept songwriting elevates the songs above mere imitation. An appealing album, The American's polished yet emotive sound places it head and shoulders above most of the other modern rock of the '00s.

    Hush

I've only heard the song Hush and so far, I've listened to it over and over again because its a really good song. Though I don't completely get the concept of the song, the content absolutely rocks and I want to buy the album. This is the first I've heard of him and so far, so good. I hope he keeps up the good work.

    5 stars definately!

My sister got the cd and like everything else she had, I figured I wouldn't like it. When she played Spaceship, I was like, hey, I guess he's okay. But when she played Wonderland, I was psyched. Needless to say, I frequently borrow her cd and visit the site alot.

This is such an awesome CD!

I have to admit that when I got Angie Aparro's demo tape at a concert I wasn't sure how great this guy was gonna sound, but after I listened to Hush and Spaceship I was hooked. About a month later I got the CD and it's worth every penny of the $13.99 that I spent on it. Not only do I love every single song on the CD but I find myself listening to the Cd over and over and never getting sick of it. My favorite songs on the Cd are Spaceship, Hush, Cry, Third Time Around, Free man, Gravity, Beautiful, Swell, It's Alright, wonderland, and The American (pretty much every song on the whole CD) So go out and get this Cd because it's worth it!
