Overview

Although the topics author N. O. Slak chooses to write about contain humor, satire, and true personal stories, The American Nutcracker is intended for those who share his opinions, yet are hesitant to convey their message for fear of being politically incorrect.

Differences of opinion are encouraged in the United States and are even considered healthy by some. Slak offers his interesting viewpoint on everything from the workplace and grocery shopping to celebrities and award shows. Here are some examples:

Self-proclaimed environmentalists tend to do a lot of whining, but there's not much going on as far as action.
Actors, like studio executives, come and go. But why do they continue to soak up-and even beg for-those gratuitous fifteen minutes of fame?
You think the State of the Union Address is long and boring? Think again. Only at award shows can you hear the most long-winded, revolting, and obnoxious speeches.

Slak is in no way bashful in his self-elected job of speaking for the silent majority. If you can't handle the truth, coupled with a little sarcasm and satire, then go ahead and put The American Nutcracker down and slowly back away.

A must read for those looking to relieve a little stress through laughter!

This book falls into the category of books you cannot put down. The author goes from one hilarious discussion to another. If you enjoy satires, this is the book for you. Throughout the book he puts into print what a lot of us would like to speak out loud. The book is very thought provoking which leaves the reader to wonder what the author himself will come out with next.

This is the kind of book we've been waiting for...

This book blew me away. It amazed me how the author opened my eyes in some respects and actually seemed to be reading my thoughts in others. Finally, someone speaking what we've all wanted to say but have not, for fear of being politically incorrect. There has never been a book like this one. Talking about 'politically correct'? Not here. It takes you back quite a bit! All in all, this is a must read. I am highly anticipating the next book by this humorous, and yet, extremely intelligent author. N.O. Slak, you got me hooked!

    FINALLY!, our thoughts are spoken!

This book is FANTASTIC! The author is sharp, witty, and sarcastically correct. How many times many of us have kept our virtual silence for fear of not being politically correct. N.O. Slak opened my eyes (at times with awe, and other times with tears of laughter) with his humorous facts, personal escapades, and his sensible approach to life and living! If I could ask one question of this author (aside from his funny name)it would be this: How soon can I look forward to your next book??!!
