Overview

The Amish people of Pennsylvania adhere to all things plain and simple. In dress, manner, and lifestyle, they strive to be self-sufficient and unworldly. Ironically, this plain and simple society has produced highly collectable and wonderfully intricate quilts. This pack introduces the craft of the Amish Quilt with stitching techniques and a step-by-step project to make your own cushion cover based on a classic Amish design. There are alternative designs for the more advanced quilter.

This pack includes: Compact book containing an introduction, a gallery of Amish quilts, and project instructions to make the cushion covers. Three traditional Amish-colored fabric pieces with matching sewing threads. Two "between" needles for quilting. Calico material for the back of the cushion. Batting for the quilting "sandwich" that forms the top of the cushion.
